We were visiting in Hyeres over the Christmas holiday and went out thinking we had directions to a specific restaurant in the Gien area. Couldn't find that one and kept driving and came upon Restaurant Grand Baie. It was night so while I suspect they have a nice view, I can only comment on the food and service. We do not speak french very well and the owner sent over his son to help us though he did not replace our waiter. Very wonderful person to visit with. They bring the fresh seafood around on a large plank of what looked like driftwood. Very nice moderately sized restaurant that is family run with a careful eye out for the customers. Everyone loved their food. Two of us got their special menu for the evening which included a delicious salad with sliced duck and foie gras, a lamb shank dinner and a chocalate cake with a pudding center. We had several good meals during our visit in France but this was clearly the best one. Pleasant surprise find for the evening!
