Owner description: The Episcopal buildings of Fréjus comprise the 5th century baptistery, the cathedral, the cloister and the former episcopal palace, which is surrounded by medieval premises. This complex looms at the place of the antique city once founded by Julius Ceasar in 49 BC in the heart of today’s pedestrian town centre. The cloister’s galleries on two levels are covered by a joisting which is decorated with paintings of a bestiary dating from mid-14th century. The richness and the diversity of these designs is unique in Provence. “Great cathedral and lovely "cloitre"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2014

The cathedral is definitely a must when visiting Frejus. Impressive architecture and a beautiful cloister. There are plenty of tourists in the holiday season - try to avoid market days, or pay a visit in the afternoon, when the beaches are filled with sunloving visitors. Buy a Frejus pass - and visit the attractions of Frejus at a much reduced price.

“A real gem.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2014

We have visited the old town of Frejus every year for the past 20 years or so but never really studied the Cathedral. This year we paid to do the little walk around the private areas and really enjoyed it.

“Cool Church!”

I just love seeing medieval architecture and when it is this well-preserved it is definitely a bonus. The town of Frejus is warm and friendly as well, especially during the holiday season when we visited.
