“Excellent holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

My family and I visited the Siblu site for a week in June 2012. It was our first experience of Siblu, so we were not entirely sure what to expect. But we had an absolutely fantastic holiday. My 2 year old daughter loved it, as did my partner and I, and my 63 year old mum. The caravan was comfortable and well equipped. The bedrooms are small, but we didn't spend much time in them. The air con was a blessing as it was very hot whilst we were there, and we ate dinner on the terrace everynight. We didn't use many of the facilities at the park so I can't really comment on them. But we did get a takeaway from the restaurant one evening which was very nice, and not too pricey. We also had a drink at the bar one evening as we explored the facilities. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly.
We went out everyday and found plenty to do in the area. We had a day trip to Monaco, a trip to the perfume museum in Grasse, went to the Marinepark (pricey but absolutely brilliant), visited Cannes and went to several beautiful beaches. The beach at Frejus is fantastic, and a short stroll to the harbour was perfect to find lunch and ice cream. One word of warning, wear beach shoes on the beaches!! After checking out of the caravan site on our final day we decided to spend the morning at the beach before heading to the airport and I trod on a Weever fish. Absolute agony. From the response of the fantastic lifeguards on the beach, this is a fairly common occurance so do be careful, especially if you have little ones sitting on the sand in the waves.
One other piece of advice - take plenty of insect repellant and stock up on fly spray. Our caravan was full of flies! (Not due to a lack of cleanliness I hasten to add! I guess flies are difficult to avoid in that sort of heat..)
All in all though a fantastic holiday. The whole family loved it. I have recommended it to several friends, and we hope to return again in the future.

We visited this site during the August summer holidays and it was just right for our family. The mobile homes look pretty with flowers and little gardens and each mobil home has a little space next to it to put out the clothes dryer or just read and relax under the shade of trees. The pool area is nice, although there was a shortage of sunbeds during peak times of the day. The sunbeds are smart wooden ones with decent sunshades. The bar manager Matthew is extremely helpful and polite and the food is reasonable. The shop isn't particularly well stocked, although due to the location of the site most guests would have a car and shop locally. There are little roadside markets nearby (within a couple of miles) which sell local honey and olive oil and tasy fruit and veg. There's also a supermarket within a 5-10min drive. There is a good choice of beaches within a 30 min drive - side sandy beaches or little sheltered coves called 'Calanques'. You do need a car, and the site is a little limited, but it's a great base to come back to after day time adventures.
The manager of the site is extremely approachable and helpful.
We went canyoning at les Gorges de Loup with www.lou-pais.com and the instructor was excellent. Not for the faint hearted!
Just be for-warned - the bedrooms in the mobile homes are very small, so think of them as just a place to rest your head after a busy day. The living area in the mobile home is large by comparison and the air-con is sort of ok. I would recommend reserving a mobile home with a terrace as it's lovely to sit out in the evening with family and a glass of Provence Rose...
Top spots within 1 hour - Lac de Cassien, Frejus old town (10 min - good restaurants), Gorges de Loup. I wouldn't recommend getting the local train service - unreliable!

Room Tip: I would recommend reserving a mobile home with a terrace as it's lovely to sit out in the evenin...

We have been to most of the Siblu camps in France over a period of 20 years, This is by far the smallest site we have visited but we were aware of this before we went so had set our expectations accordingly. On the positive side the staff were very friendly and responsive. The site is quiet and though not picturesque is quite well landscaped. We had a new caravan and it was adequate without being comfortable. The pitch also was quite barren with many empty spaces, this will improve as more caravans are put on the site.

Siblu obviously have plans for the site. We understand there are plans for a bigger pool. this is essential for at peak times it is hopelessly inadequate and so over crowded that you would be lucky to be able to swim 5 yards in a straight line.

The restaurant food is fine and not overpriced. The shop is very small and only good for bread and pastries in the morning, this will need to be expanded as the site grows.

The traffic in this area is a nightmare in August. We gave up trying to travel during the day and only ventured onto roads in the early morning or evening. The french drive very fast and are quite unforgiving.

I will go back to The Var but not in July and August, it is gorgeous but everyone in France and a good part of Italy, Germany, Holland and The UK, know it and head there.

4th holiday with siblu. The site was ideal for us, we have 2 daughters aged 4 and 6. The pools And slides were great fun. Mobile home brand new. Restaurant offered excellent food. The staff and entertainment team were amazing. All in all we had a fabulous time. The site is also clean and peaceful. Will be going back next year!

Just returned from 10 days at Siblu Montourey. Although our first impressions were that it was a small site with not much to do, we had a fabulous time and the staff are to be commended for their efforts to make everyone's stay fun and enjoyable. A great base from which to explore a fabulous region of France.

Many thanks for your comments following your holiday with us on Le Montourey. Fréjus is such a popular destination that it can sometimes be a little crowded, so it's nice for us to have a little corner all to ourselves to relax and unwind.
We're thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to welcoming you another time.

The site itself was clean, but very small ideal only for small children, nothing for teenagers to do on site. The Gamesroom consists of 1 x table football, The football pitch closed at 9pm and the kids couldn't even hang out there. The pool is very small with not a lot of sunbeds if you wanted a bed you had to be up early to get your towel on. The shop was rubbish only good for fresh bread (no salad or fresh meat or fresh milk) The bar was very expensive 5 Euro a pint and 6 Euro for a white coffee. Food in the restaurant was poor. The Communal BBQ area's weren't very nice. Very disappointed. On the plus side the staff were helpful and the region is stunning with plenty of places to visit.

Another happy Siblu holiday - we stayed for 3 weeks in July and August, Our 6th Siblu holiday but our first stay at Le Montourey. It is the smallest of the Siblu sites we have visited (but about to become bigger in 2013) but has the same Siblu feel generated largely by the hard working and smiling dedicated entertainment team of Gaby, Sarah, Frankie, Camille and Leotar (not sure of his name spelling sorry). Our 3 daughters aged 14, 12 and 10 joined in with the Miss Montourey competition, the evening karaoke, the weekly talent show, the Var Matin day sweetie cake making and Sarah's daily pool sundances. My husband Mike, partnered by Gaby was also delighted to be the only englishman to reach the finals of the Petanque competition! The mobile home we stayed in was privately owned and clean and reasonably well equipped (An oven and a chopping board would have been a distinct advantage!). We ate at the onsite restaurant more than at previous sites as this one, although not cheap, had good food, especially the pizzas, very friendly service and a good vantage point for enjoying the evening entertainment or live music. Frejus and the markets are worth visiting, there are some lovely beaches locally and a day at AquaLand is a must, but get there early and choose a transfer day like Saturday for shorter queues. The downsides to Le Montourey are its small size, no Barracudas, smaller entertainment team etc.. which will not be an issue for next year with expansion already on the cards. We have already booked for next year, see you in July 2013 Martin!
