“The perfect getaway @ Cote d'azur”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

We stayed at the villa Port D'attache for 7 nights and really regretted that we had to leave. The villa is perfect and you can see the owners really care about their B&B/villa. The surroundings are neat and proper, the rooms light, airy and romantic. And best of all the owners are very welcoming and helpfull. We stayed in the Mistral room, which is the smallest room but it has it's own balcony/patio overgrown with plants. So romantic! When the weather permits you can have breakfast outside in de garden, otherwise the table is prepared inside. As guests you can also use a comfortable and nicely decorated living room and shared balcony. We warmly recommend Port D'attache for a holiday at the Cote d'azur, it's central place and a lovely stay! We hope to come back again!

A wonderful, quiet getaway, so relaxing and welcoming. Loved the views, and the little pool. Gilliam and Daniel make prefect hosts, and the breakfasts on the terrace were all we could want. For new arrivals the road may make you doubt your navigation! It is rough and steep but follow it to the end.

Room Tip: We had an excellent view from the Tramontane room with its twin beds.

Once we reached the place, Gillian and Tess came to our car to meet us with a very warm, friendly smile. We simply loved the Tramontane room which had a fantastic view. We looked forward to going back to the room every evening. In the mornings breakfast was provided and we often met other guests, which made for great conversations. Gillian gave us great advice on good restaurants, places to go (and where to avoid). She also had brochures, and we made it to St Tropez on a day trip by taking a ferry from St Maxime by her recommendations.

The location itself is minutes drive away from Cannes, however the road up to the house is Very Steep and looks like a one way (but is two way). I found it quite scary to drive but the husband (who was driving) said it was fine. So if you're a confident driver with a small car it will be not a problem.

I have just returned from a stay at this villa which is simply gorgeous. The rooms are airy, very clean, well-decorated and the host Gillian is so accommodating that she even agreed to drive me into town when I was running late.
The breakfasts are delicious and guests can eat outside overlooking the Alps and the sea. There is also a lovely swimming pool.
This place is really a treat and is run to a very high level. The room prices are very reasonable compared to the hotels in the area.
It is easy to find by car. A must see......

We recently stayed at Villa Le Port d'Attache for four nights. What initially attracted us, in addition to the positive reviews, were the photos of the property and surrounding scenery. On arriving and being warmly greeted by Daniel and dog Tess, the spectacular vista of the snow covered Alps as well as the sea was stunning and immediately relaxed us. We were then introduced to Gillian and their daughters, who engaged us in lively conversation on numerous topics. We were then taken to our room, the Scirocco, which had a balcony with patio set overlooking the mountains and see, as well as a full length window overlooking the beautiful gardens and yard. A healthy and plentiful breakfast was served on an outdoor patio, warmed by the morning sun. Gillian's recommendations on restaurants and local attractions were right on; most appreciated was her advice on negotiating travel routes in the area. The location of the Villa is ideal for accessing the French Riviera as well as the interior of eastern Provence, with most attractions within a 30 minute drive, even on a holiday weekend. What we liked best was the attentiveness of our hosts; thank you Gillian and Daniel. The access road to the Villa needs some work but that is not within the control of the Villa but rather the local town.

Room Tip: You will not do better than the Scirocco room, with its beautiful views, roominess and comfort.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Villa Le Port d'Attach last September and we absolutely loved it! The B&B sits high up on a hill top overlooking other hill towns of the French Riviera and boasts some fabulous sunsets over the mountains. We found the location to be excellent for those with a car, a less than 10 minute drive down the hill to the nearest beach (with sand!), and 15-30min drive to St Tropez and Nice and all the lovely towns in between. Everyone we met at the B&B were all so nice and even though we're only in our mid-20s, we quickly became friends with a few older couples staying with us and would come back to the B&B every night and sit outside on the terrace sofas and share wine and cheese and stories of our daily travels and must-see's in the Riviera. If you're looking for a B&B that is very relaxing and quiet, a laid-back atmosphere that makes you feel at home, with beautiful views of the hill sides, in a location that ventures you off the beaten path - this is your place!

After a business trip I wanted a chill out place, and found the perfect spot in Port d'Attache. I was welcomed warmly by Gillian, and the family's friendly dog, Tess. Calm, comfortable and perfectly poised for so many areas, set in a spectacular location. A tasty breakfast in a pleasant dining room with art, soft furnishings and furniture reflecting the couple's life of travel, with views across to Nice. I hope to return.
