“Lovely accommodation in Eze Village - Nicer than Nice, less expensive than Monaco!”
Reviewed January 25, 2012

This hotel is located in a nice little town called Eze, right in the middle of Nice and Monaco. It is much nicer than Nice and a lot less expensive than Monaco. Eze Village is nice with a little supermarket and several restaurants.

This was our second stay at this hotel, last year we stayed here for 2 nights and this time we stayed 4 nights. We had room 109 this time, which had a king bed (which was very comfy), a desk, table and chairs, flat screen TV, full kitchen facilities, a nice modern bathroom (with heating) and with fully adjustable aircon and heating. There was a well equipped kitchen with microwave, bar fridge, dishwasher and stove top.

You get 2 hours free wi-fi per room.

The room had a lovely view of the sea. There was a balcony which you could go out on with a table and chairs to sit and take in the view.

Very friendly and helpful staff.

Laundry facilities available for a cost ($5 for washing machine, $2 for dryer). There is a continental breakfast available for €11.

Bus 82 takes you to and from Nice in about 20 minutes. Bus 112 takes you to Monaco in about 10-15 mins. The Eze bus stop is very close to the hotel, but the return bus is not well signposted at all. You have to hop on at the Cremaillere bus stop. The frequency however is not so good, and the last buses back to Eze are around 6-7pm.

The downfalls are that there is no in-room safe or tea and coffee making facilities.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a view!

We would like to add that the latest bus from Nice come to Eze at 7.40 PM.

For those who wish to stay here while visiting Monte Carlo, please be reminded that the taxi fare to Monte Carlo is circa €50 each way. Therefore if you're using this mode of transport twice daily it can be expensive. Also the rooms are quite basic and resemble a hostel. There isn't much to do in Eze but some people like that.

Dear Montysheridan,
Thank for sharing your experience with us.
We know very well that taxis on French Riviera are one of most expensive in France. That is why we are suggesting taking the bus during the day or renting a car for one or two days (it’s possible at the front desk).
Concerning your opinion about our residence, we would like to remind that we are a residence for tourists with apartments (well-equipped) and not a luxury hotel (we are still less expensive than other residences on French Riviera).
Best regards

Located at 300m from the small medieval town centre. We booked for three nights (with three people) and were very happy with our choice. The young lady (originally German) at reception was very friendly and helpful. Very nice view of the sea and hills from the balcony, where we had our breakfast. There's a local bakery and supermarket within walking distance (only 2 minutes), very convenient. We had two (basic) bedrooms, of which the smallest one had no windows. Dishwasher and well equipped open kitchen, sitting area with telly. Small bathroom with bath, toilet and washbasin, hairdryer, soap dispensers. Second separate toilet. The only disadvantage I could see is that the apartment was for 5 (according to the notice on the door), but it seems too small for such a group: kitchen table & chairs only for 4 (also on the balcony) and couch seats only three people. Maybe they only put 4 people in there. There's no washing up liquid / dishwater tablets or sponge in the kitchenette.
Parking space next to the hotel is 10 EUR per day, but if you arrive in low season as we did, you can park in the street at no cost (evening and night).
You can take the bus either to Nice or to Monaco, very easy (ticket at 1 EUR in the bus), from town centre, only 200 m from the hotel.
Highly recommendable!

Dear Alexandra,
Thank for sharing your experience with us.
We would like to add some information. You haven’t reserved the 3 bedrooms apartment, but only 2 bedrooms with a small cabin. Cabin it’s a simple room with small bed and there is no window. We have bigger apartments with 3 real big rooms if there’s any need.
Many of the families are taking bigger apartment (for example 3 bedrooms for 4 people) to have more space and comfort – 3 bedrooms apartment has about 50/55 m2 (which is unusual for the residences to have such big apartments).
We hope to see you soon in the future.
Best regards

Eze was the most beautiful place we stayed at our two weeks in europe. The hotel was really nice, we had a refrigerator and mini kitchen which was nice. also this was the biggest room we stayed in most rooms are on the smaller size in europe. There was a little grocery store just right down the road which is when the kitchen and frig came in handy. the bed was good the view was awesome and the staff was nice.

We loved this hotel as it was more of a 1 bedroom apartment (actually 2 bedroom as there was a twin in another bedroom). The kitchen was well stocked, and the terrace/balcony looked out to the sea. Very comfortable, and the hotel staff was nice, too. It's right by Fragonard, so a perfume tour is possible; in addition, it's easy walking to the Eze castle/medieval village. Nice boulangerie for breakfast just down the street. A "splurge" restaurant, Mas Provencal, across the street, but plenty of other reasonable priced restaurants down the street.

Room Tip: Ask for the highest floor for the good views.

This is a lovely hotel. Friendly staff, clean room with a nice bathroom (full sized tub/shower). Having the kitchenette was helpful in cutting down on cost of eating out. Good location as well, it is an easy walk up to the village.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
