We’ve just enjoyed a magnificent holiday in this beautiful French chateaux, which has picturesque views across the Mediterranean.
The hillside location offered tremendous views across the bay with a short walk to the local beach. We decided to explore the area and found some wonderful walks with further spectacular picture opportunities.
The stone beach itself was very quiet and almost a hidden gem. The turquoise blue sea did not disappoint and was warmer than expected for the time of year.
We enjoyed many day trips with either a short drive or a hop on the local bus or train. The train ride to Monaco offered further fantastic views. Monaco itself is truly a different world with it’s super cars and super yachts aplenty. Well worth a visit to see how the other half live!
Other local trips included Cap Ferrat and Beaulieu which offered beautiful beaches and reasonable eateries. I’d recommend hiring a car to explore at your leisure. We embraced the twisty narrow French Riveria roads which add some real character to the area.
The car also allowed us to stock up from the local supermarket which meant we had the flexibility to cook in the house or eat out. The kitchen within the house was equipped with everything we needed and to eat on the upper terrace with those views was special.
The spa pool was much bigger than I expected and allowed for a much needed dip to help cool down. In fact we often sat in the pool overlooking the panoramic views with a glass of bubbly.
I will definitely rebook as there is so much more to see in this wonderful part of the world.
Magnificent week at the villa named tit-eze(i know). I can echo the majority of the comments already left about the house. Its clean and comfortable as you'd expect. There is more amenities than you could think of. Made full use of the fridge's ice machine, weber grill, and also the very new Swim Spa which was luxurious. The real winner here though is the stunning sea view which can be enjoyed from all the floors of the house.
The location of Eze-sur-mer is beautiful. It lays in cove that is far quieter and less built up than other areas along the french riviera, this provides a friendly and local atmosphere whilst visiting the near-by beach and restaurants. Eze-sur-mer is conveniently located for full or half day trips to Monaco, Nice, Cap Ferrat or Eze village.. which are recommended and are easy to plan for since they are easily accessible by bus, train or rental car(we chose buses that depart close by each 15 mins and cost only 1.50).
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to others. Its such a well looked after villa laying in my now favorite area of the french riviera.
We last visited 3years ago and couldn’t wait to return. We searched around and preferred this villa as a great price too for how much space there is. June is the perfect time of year for us to visit as the temperature is just right. We were pleased to find the house exactly how we remembered, traditional and homely with all the modern amenities. Contained everything we needed. Biggest bonus was the new spa pool, our children loved it and we had to drag them away to get to the beach. We visited cap Ferrat a lot as the beaches are perfect for children. Also some great history and a lovely walk around the ‘cap’. Great views as always, can’t get enough of this place. The area is so peaceful and beautiful, I really hope it long continues to keep its traditional charm. All the local villages are wonderful and have everything you need. Still feel like there’s so much more for us to explore. We again hired a car as it’s easier for us with children and got around easily. The water park was great fun and less than an hour away. Look forward to our next holiday here!
We recently returned from spending the month of March at this beautiful 3 bedroom villa. Every morning we rose to the spectacular sunrise coming across Eze Bay on the Mediterranean Sea. The villa is very spacious with a touch of the old and the modern combined. The beds are all very comfortable and the kitchen is modern and full equipped. There are bedroom balconies and patios including a rooftop patio to choose from to enjoy the ever-changing view with a glass of local wine or simply relax with a good book. Every day we went out either by local bus or train to visit the nearby picturesque towns on the Riviera: Bealieu, Villa Frenche, etc., and the lovely ancient hilltop Village of Eze. A car would have been a bonus when it came to groceries but local buses were frequent and dependable. Uber is also just a call away. The new extra large spa pool is a bonus but due to the cooler weather in March we used it infrequently.
We would highly recommend vacationing in this spacious villa and would love to return one day.
We highly recommend the house and location: the house is very pleasant, with comfortable beds, a well stocked kitchen, good bathrooms and so on, and moreover, fantastic views from multiple locations: the view from the rooftop terrace is spectacular and we had all our meals outside on one terrace or another. Although there is a road below the house and neighbours on all sides, we found it relatively quiet and certainly peaceful. The local beach is a 10 minute walk away and it is very nice - we didn't mind the rocks and it's a fantastic swimming location and possible to find a spot away from the two restaurants there if that is what you want. It's easy enough to take the bus to a selection of other beaches (which we did) and there are great towns to visit by bus nearby as well (which we also did). We didn't have a car and it wasn't a problem. We ordered our groceries online from the supermarket in nearby Beaulieu or we went there and bought our shopping and they delivered it to our front door. The owners of the house were engaged, very helpful and always responded quickly to our inquiries. We would most definitely go back again.
We stayed 2 weeks without car, which went perfect.
You just have to set yourself in holiday "mode" and relax even when shopping food in Beaulieu, going to restaurants in Beaulieu, Villefranche, Monaco and Nice take some more time when going by bus or train. No problem to walk to Beaulieu sur Mer with nice restaurants in the harbour.
... and if you don´t want to eat at Eze Bord de Mer restaurants you are dependent of some way of transportation. On the other hand the location gives you a great possibility of reaching great places both east and west within minutes.
Bus and train is cheap. No buses in late evening but easy to take train back home from dinner in Monaco, Nice or Villefranche. Taxi is "crazy" expensive.
Walking down and up from beach and "main" street makes you sweaty - but the very well working air conditions make you cool again. ... and it is not that hard.
With a speedy washing machine - you can always turn sweaty clothes to clean...
We stayed several days at Papaya Beach. Very friendly staff, comfortable sun beds and good food. Expensive though - but it is easy to get addicted to the comfort when you want a day at the beach - and you find this only 7 minutes from house.
The view from roof top is incredible. You never want to go down. All terraces have Mediterranean views!
With two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs you can let children have their own floor or you could be two couples/small families and still have good place. Terraces on all levels too.
We really loved the mixture of old and new. The house has it´s own welcoming "soul" - make you feel "at home". High ceilings, wide doors and beautiful floors. Temperature was never a problem.
And maybe the biggest plus: The water-crushed ice-ice cube freezer giving you cold water (and drinks) 24/7. No need of shopping water.
When travelling with teenagers wi-fi is important - and the house have a good wifi - never a problem.
