We attended a birthday party here where they had booked the whole restaurant. The hotel is beautifully positioned and had excellent gardens. The walk down from the main road takes you into a different world.
Drinking champagne on the lawn as the sun went down was beautiful. Excellent canapés with foie gras and pastries.
We ate inside. The dinning room was well appointed. The food on the whole for such a large party was superb and of excellent quality. All matched with an excellent choice in wine.
Sadly it all had to come to an end..........till the next time....we hope!

Went for dinner with 3 others, first time this season after coming here regularly for 5 years. The restaurant is not large and only 4 tables were occupied but the restaurant was visibly understaffed and we were told the sommelier was on his day off.
The new menu has more complications and options than before, the food was very good. The disappointment came from the service: 1) it started badly with us being asked menu language and half the table receiving the wrong one. 2) We were asked if we wanted an aperitif, which we did asking for a bottle of white wine - no one came to take the wine request for 10 minutes and the wine was then brought with the meal.3) you are asked to order dessert at the beginning of the meal, one person requested cheese and was asked "with the other deserts or before" - he asked with - but the cheese arrived before - when we raised the point we were told "cheese always come before deserts" ! 4) the water glasses were not topped up regularly (lack of staff) and when water ran out by the end of the main course no one inquired whether we wanted more... Finally when I called to speak to the restaurant manager the next day to pass on the comments, my number was taken but no one rang back!! The above are all fixable issues with a better manager and team - and do not do justice to the place nor to the 140 Euros per person price. PS - the group spoke fluent French and English so this was not a language issue...

lots of improvements since you last visited us here at Cap Estel.
the restaurant has grown in reputation & interest.we've improved the service,as the reviews will show Tableau Cap Estel is the venue of choice for our many,repeat guests.friday evenings is jazz night.come visit.we'd love to see you.
