“Beautiful Location”

My husband & I recently stayed at the Chateau de la Chevre D'or and it was one of the most stunning places that we ever been: the views over the Riveria are second to none you feel like you have been transported back in time to a medieval village whilst enjoying all the comforts of a modern 5-star hotel.

This is certainly a place we will not forget in a hurry. The staff are outstanding - very attentive and coreous whilst extremely warm and friendly also; nothing is a problem and you are made feel very welcome from the moment that you arrive until you are safely on your way home.

It is at the higher end of the market (frequently featured in 'Top Hotels of the World' listings, so be prepared but when you have views like this in a restored medieval village above the Cote D'azur, one can only expect to pay a premium for it.

We stayed for 2 nights and as soon as we arrived, we wished that we could amend our schedule to stay for another few nights.

Certainly a must-see place and we thoroughly enjoyed every second of it!

stayed here for one night on our wedding anniversary, after two nights in Monte Carlo, glad we did it that way round and saved the best until last,
it has been said that photos cannot do this place justice,it just has to be experienced.
From winding up the mountain,to arrival at the hotel gates, you are met and escorted through tiered and terraced gardens to the medeival passage where you find the reception, there greeted by welcoming staff,my favorite of couse being Antonio Pennucci, Chef Concierge, the most lovely man, nothing too much trouble and had even confirmed my dinner reservation in Eze bord de mer for that evening.
Our room was delightful (no 5), if ever I return I would request the same room, however the rooms are spread throughout the tiny streets of the village (30 some rooms I think, but you must read up on the history of the Chateau!)

Our stay at the hotel was a very pleasant and surprising experience. I agree with all the positive reviews published here. Even with prices in the higher range, once in a while you certainly should indulge in such an unforgettable vacation.
Read about the story of the hotel in its website, look at the pictures - they are real - and don't hesitate.
Just an advise: should you wish to explore the French Riviera from there, travel or rent a a car. Nice, Cap D'Antibes, Monaco, Reno, all theses cities are nearby - by car.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a - at least partial - sea view. Amazing!

We were amazed by the beauty of this 5 star property. The views of the Cote D'Azur were stunning. Each room is set throughout Eze Village which is quite unique. The larger rooms are almost majestic mini apartments. The smaller rooms are just ok and probably not worth the price. The surrounding gardens and sculptures create an iddylic setting. Food and beverage prices are above average. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with every request. Cedrique and Eric came through and worked hard to make our stay quite memorable.

Room Tip: Request rooms with water views.

We stayed here in August 2012; and it was the perfect long weekend getaway. There was no reason all weekend to leave our private patio with its outstanding view. When we did stray, the breakfast on the terrace was excellent, service was outstanding the terraced gardens / sun loungers facing the sea were spectacular. Over-sized chess was fun (but avoid dusk due to midges!).

We only ate at the terrace restaurant, where service, wine and food was outstanding although it's not cheap. The cheapest wine on the menu is 80 Euros, but then for most of the people eating there I doubt they even blinked!

The hotel is the village so all the rooms are spread around the village amongst normal houses. Simply Beautiful. The Taverna is a good option for am alternative place to eat, with really friendly service. The pool is a little small and more for kids than adults.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a private sea view terrace with your room.

If you have seen pictures of Eze village or the Chevre d'Or, you may think the pictures were chosen to put the place in its best light but I can assure you there is no exaggeration in the pictures, the setting is really that special.
This was our third stay at Chevre d'Or and the first in mid-summer, when the many terraces are open for taking in the view, dining, or having a drink. We have been all across the Mediterranean and have found very few views such as this, and unfortunately all of them (e.g. Amalfi, Capri, Santorini) come with a price tag to match. The views are spectacular.
We were fortunate to be upgraded to a room with a terrace, and we had breakfast and late-night wine there each day. Before dinner, we also had wine at the bar terrace which is right on the edge of the hillside with very expansive views. We especially enjoyed watching the lights come on in the evening across the hillside and beach towns along the coast, a very romantic scene.
The hotel is made up of a chain of very old stone buildings that are part of the medieval walled town of Eze, so room sizes are determined by the existing buildings. Rooms seem to be redone every few years as the decor is always fresh and clean; every room we have had in the various stays has been good sized and very well appointed. Our bath had both a jacuzzi and a good sized shower and overall quite modern in facilities.
Our luggage did not arrive until the next day so we did have some special needs which were met in a prompt and helpful manner. Concierge was also very helpful and knowledgeable on directions for our drive to our next stop in Nice.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have the views I have mentioned in the review, but the website is pretty specific as t...
