In our way to Eze we were starving. This restaurant is in the bottom of the mountain, so we decide to eat before climb to the town. We love it because the pasta is great, they were very nice to do pasta for mi girl with tomato sauce and the pasta with garlic and pepper is great. for 12 Euros. The plate for the day for 17 Eur alsoinclude a salad, a entry and a dessert, which we did not take because we only want the entry. Good service too!! It was very delicous. Ican but it #1.

I whisked my husband off to Monte Carlo for his birthday this year, and we travelled a lot along the Cote d'Azur coastline. We had met with people who had been to Eze before we went to Monte Carlo so it was on our list of things to do. Having visited the beautiful mountain top medieval village, we called at La Colette for a meal prior to going back to our hotel, as we were leaving that evening. The restauranteur couldn't do enough for us, we ordered a simple pasta carbonara, which came with bread, and it was exquisite, especially with the prosecco I ordered to drink with it! We were told that there were few taxi's locally, but our restauranteur managed to source one for us to get us back in time for our pick up from the hotel. All in all, it was a lovely meal, we weren't hurried, even though we were probably the last people to order from the kitchen. If you get the chance to go to Eze, which I heartily recommend, drop into the Le Colette, you won't be disappointed.

This attractive looking 'cafe' - well positioned, inviting terrace, promising menu, good wine list - once run by an unpleasant woman and given up a year ago was given another chance only to discover that it is now run by an unpleasant man. The 'plat du jour' - 'Canard aux olives' - I thought 'how much harm could the the new owner, a chef do to a duck?' Served a glass of 'vin ordinaire' by a relative of Manuel from 'Falty Towers' listed as Merlot we ordered a salad and waited. Half an hour later the salad arrived but no bread and 30 minutes later Manuel asked me if we would like cheese. I said we had not eaten and asked him if the chef had forgotten the order 'No' he said 'I did and rushed into the kitchen. Minutes later boiled and served with packaged ravioli and smothered in canned tomato sauce the pitiful Canard was a culinary disaster. I refused it and asked for it to be removed from the bill. The chef showed up in filthy jeans and T shirt and proved to be as disagreeable as the former owner. That was possibly the worst meal I have had in France in many years. Innocents abroad who can't deal with a nasty French chef in their language avoid that cafe.

We went for lunch on a hot day and were pleased that the outdoor dining got a breeze and was shady. Very comfortable. The formule was delicious and very generous on food. We would definitely recommend it.

We didn't want another Michelin star meal so we walked down the path to the main village, near the Police, and were seated outside on a balmy evening, for a casual value-for-money dinner. Our friends had a burger (average he said), and a salad (good). But our prawn curry was out of this world. Admittedly we had to put salt on the very mild curry sauce, but the 4 huge juicy prawns were unbelievably fresh and well grilled. We should have asked for veggies, but this is France, and most dishes don't automatically come with any greens. Ask for a table outside, if you don't mind the youngsters puffing away non-stop.
