A twenty minute walk will get you to the train station and tourist area. The apartment was functional with a decent supply of cutlery and plates, pots etc. The balcony was large but the street was very noisy during the day, the rear would be quieter but I don't think there are balconies. Close to bakeries and some decent restaurants and grocery stores. Good access to the highway which would take one to Nice, Italy or southwest to say saint tropez.

Clean rooms and bathroom. HUGE terrace in room 305 with 2 lounges, table and 4 chairs! Really huge!! The breakfast is VERY poor: croissants, jam, butter, tea, coffee, yogurt - and this is it! And it costs 8 euros per person! Own parking for 7 euros per day. They charge per day of usage which means that if you didn't park you car all days you should tell them about it and they will estimate only the days of parking in fact. Well equipped kitchen: fridge, stove, roaster, toaster, coffee machine, dishwashing machine, electric kettle, dinner set for 6 persons, pans. Good location: about 1,1 km from the beach, there is a supermarket in 3 min of walk. Quit place. There is a very beautiful park right in front of the hotel. The stuff is helpful and nice. In the room you can find a bottle of still water and pack of rice))

Arriving late in the evening into Cannes the apartment block was locked and instructions on how to enter were emailed a couple of days prior to arrival. However we had been on the road travelling and haven't had chance to get emails or get connected to the internet. An inconvenience as it wasn't easy to find somewhere to get an internet connection.

When we eventually entered the apartment block the keys that were attached in an envelope to our room door were for another apartment further down the corridor. This meant a late night call to attendant who let us in the room where the keys had been left!

The apartment comprised of a twin bedroom, shower/bathroom, toilet, kitchen and lounge/dining room with sofa-bed. Free WiFi was available but it was tied to individual devices?! rather than per room.

The apartment was located a 30-40 minute walk from the beach.

The Residence Massena is a fair bit removed from the main strip (La Croisette) in Cannes, but the value and service make it worth it. My husband and I have stayed with them for three years running. We've never found a less expensive hotel in Cannes - one that is worth staying in, that is. The rooms are clean and bright. Many have nice balconies (You can't see as far as the sea, but nevertheless). If you get a suite with a kitchen, they are well-appointed and have most of the crockery and cutlery you'd need. It's about a 10 minute easy walk down to the Palais and the Croisette, and we enjoy it because there are many lovely bakeries in which to stop and buy a pastry for breakfast. You could also take a short bus ride, or a taxi (although be warned that during the Festival du Film, the taxi prices are exorbitant).
The service has always been excellent - whether it was accomodating us when checking in very late at night, letting me do some laundry, or helping us after my wallet was stolen.(Not at the hotel - during a festival event - don't let the atmosphere fool you!) Celine at the front desk is fabulous. They have a restaurant, but we've never eaten breakfast there.
I think this hotel is a good choice if you're going to be staying a while in Cannes, or want to go to the festival but don't want to pay Croisette prices.
