The waiter was quite funny when he was making jokes but he didn't like when someone else made it ( especially men). The food was nothing special and I had eaten much better in Nice the day before. We were four and three of us had the same opinion about the food. Also the dessert was just fine. At the end we got 4 main course and 3 desserts and we paid 90€. Advice? Go to the old city.

Lovely dinner outside on a summer Saturday evening. Tomato and mozzarella and green salads to start just right; good choices from the market. Main courses, magret de canard very good; red snapper good; scallops uninspired. Good French menu but perhaps too broad and ambitious. Absolutely charming waitress; rather charmless waiter. Nice setting in lively street of restaurants.

Friendly, family-owned restaurant with consistently flavoursome and well prepared food. Unpretentious, good value and - as a regular to Cannes Film and Advertising Festivals - a perfect spot close enough for lunch while just out of the mayhem.

I was in Cannes for the film festival this year and was lucky enough to enter la Meissounière for dinner on my first night. The large choice of meals subtly combine traditionnal french food with some more audacious recipes from the very talented young chef. The wine choice is also amazing and the prices are refreshingly reasonable in comparison to the rest of the Cannes restaurants. Finally the team is dynamic, young, naturally welcoming and efficient (a feat which needs to be noted in the rush that is the film festival).

Highly recommended to all film festival goers and generally to all food lovers!

We had a great evening at La Meissouniere. Away from the tourist areas, this restaurant is a treat. Great food, great service and nice atmosphere - slightly more cosy lighting would make it perfect. Would return and recommend.
