My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Renior as part of an 8 day vacation in the Cote D'Azur. This was our last holiday as a couple before our little girl arrived and our 2 night stay in the Renoir was the end of our holiday. Our stay at the Renoir was an enjoyable end to a fantastic holiday.

We found choosing a hotel within our budget in Cannes to be tricky, partly because many of our preferred hotels were fully booked. After much deliberation and reading of TA reviews we opted for the Renior. The reason we chose the Renior was that we wanted a decent size room in a location that was suited for the Croisette and the train station. The Renoir was very well located for the train station and we were not disappointed by our choice.

The hotel was about a 5-10 minute walk from the train station and other than initially taking a wrong turn on leaving the train station we found the hotel no problem. As others have noted look out for the Police Station and the hotel is nearby. The main entrance to the hotel is lovely and there are a few stairs to negotiate which we managed fine with luggage. The reception staff were efficient and we were quickly checked into our junior suite. In our experience rooms in the French Riviera are small unless you can afford a bigger room and this junior suite was spacious with a separate bedroom, small living area and spacious bathroom. Our other hotels on this trip had very small bathrooms so the bathroom at the Renoir was absolutely a treat.

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the Le Croisette and after crossing the busy road beside the hotel the rest of the walk is actually very pleasant. We didn't find the walk to / from the hotel to be a drag at all. My understanding is that the hotel has a special rate with a private beach on the Le Croisette but we aren't really sun bathers so didn't try it out. Perhaps at peak season this could be handy as the public beach in Cannes is very small.

We booked the hotel on a room only basis and paid for breakfast on the morning of our departure. We found the American breakfast to be OK, but nothing more than that. I would avoid eating in the hotel and eat elsewhere. The hotel made restaurant reservations for us on request and we had two fantastic meals in Cannes.

Overall, we found the Hotel Renoir to be an excellent choice for our stay in Cannes. We would have stayed at some of the higher rated hotels if they had been available but in actual fact the Renoir proved to be an ideal location for our stay. Despite the hotel's proximity to the train station / busy road our sleep was never disturbed once. I would absolutely recommend the Renoir if you can get at least a Junior Suite at a decent price.

My room was on the small size but comfortable and clean - the pillows were horrendous and need replacement.
The service in general was very good and Morgan is actually the soul of the place.....
Breakfast could use some improvement - a better location with more comfort although the food was plentiful and made to order.
otherwise everything worked - slow WIFI but that seems to be a general problem in Cannes.
The location is convenient to the convention center and the shopping area.
Not bad

Room Tip: avoid a room facing the highway.....

This hotel is had to find even with a Garmin. Look for the police station and turn up the very narrow street to the entrance. We had a van so no street parking would work for us. Fortunately the manager called home office and allowed us to leave the van in the hotel entrance parking space.
Rooms were large, a/c, large bath and wifi worked. Hotel is 10 minute walk to the beach and most dinning places.
This is a out of the way hotel but priced much more affordable than the 4 - 5 star hotel along the beach.
Now that I know how to find the place and understand the parking issue I'd stay here again.

Room Tip: I believe all rooms are equal

Finding the hotel first is a challenge, second is parking....thank God, they let us park in front as we were in a van....lots of luggage (two couples). Not on the beach, but we knew that going in....and the room was spacious, clean, cool, the bed and linens very comfortable...nice bathroom, closet. Morgan is a character and loves to talk, so be prepared. He is helpful for local information. We thought our breakfast was very good, so what would have been awful considering the parking issue, turned out to be one of our best stops on our journey.

I booked this hotel for 3 nights to relax after 5 weeks of touring and what an oasis it turned out to be. Morgan greeted us and was most helpful with recommendations for eating out and anything we needed. The location is great close to all the places you want to see in Cannes.Room nice and roomy lovely and clean with trendy decor. Parking is a couple of streets away but no issue. This is the place to stay in Cannes

Room Tip: Pick a room at the front away from the traffic

I spent 7 days in September in Cannes and overall I should rate this hotel with 4-4.5 star rating not 5 but for Monsieur Morgan it will be 5 star rating.

Pros:
- Small, clean and quiet hotel;
- 10 minutes walking to Croisette/beach;
- Good room size for junior suite;

Cons: continental breakfast (12euro/day) is too poor: only tea/coffee, Orange juice, Butter and croissants.

Best regards to Morgan, I will come back next year 100%.

Room Tip: Choose the rooms facing to rue Edith Cavell not to the highway

I've been to this hotel at 2012, it's location is just great, very central. You can find just everything in the surroundings, it has great services, spacious and impecably cleaned badrooms. I'll certainly recomend it!!!
