We stayed here for 12 nights and had a great time.
Yes the hotel is shabby chic unless in a suite but still a great place to stay .
Breakfast is good but it must be Included with your room or you will find it is overpriced but still delicious !
Room great...water pressure good...room service very fast ...maid service excellent...
We were definitely the poorer end of the guest scale but everyone was lovely ....
Thank you to everyone at the Carlton for making our stay enjoyable.

The bed was great, full buffet breakfast @ 41Euros is quite steep. Stick to the continental breakfast it will be plenty. Staff are nice and friendly, but not truly warm. The hotel itself is grand and majestic, however the atmosphere is not as classy as I would have thought. Having drinks at the lounge/bar is great. As part of the guest of the hotel, I was shocked to find out I had to pay an extra 31Euros for a deck chair on the beach. Not to mention paying 26Euro for a club sandwich and 24Euro for some watermelon, its like, are they for real? Prices are way too exorbitant. Lifestyles of the rich & famous? More hookers frequent this place than you can imagine. Class and style no longer exists here and its very disappointing. This hotel has seen its better days in the 50's and 60s at the height of style and sophistication.

Dear Zicvic,

Thank you for the time your spent posting this review, regarding your stay at the IC Carlton Cannes hotel.

It was also a pleasure to have a nice conversation with you during our courtesy call, as you confirmed having a pleasant stay, and just asked to have some items to be shipped in your country.

All our fees or extra costs are confirmed in advance and shown in all supports. Then, we are a bit surprised by some terms you have used regarding our valuable Client, as you are, and it's a pity not to have informed us, in time, about this fact.
We are sure that there is a confusion with another "Carlton" located in the north of France, which is not part of the InterContinental Group.

We hope to welcome you back very soon, to make your stay another time enjoyable.
Thank you again for your stay.

Granted this place is a tourist trap and it was too overcrowded but the atmosphere is great! The setting is unbeatable, sea-facing blah blah as all the other reviewers would tell you. However, the rooms are adorned in a certain fashion and not quite our cup of tea. The bed was big and nice. Service was prompt, courteous and efficient. I was here 5 years ago and although the atmosphere is still good.... there's something missing. Could be the crowds have changed. Lots of jostling around and my wife didn't like to be hurried and pushed around. Perhaps it's all thos tour groups and baggage lying around but I had to agree.
Nevertheless, we spent a good week there, had a little sun and sea and used it as a base to travel around with friends and some work. You won't be left wanting for places to eat around. Our room was rather on the smallish side but the bathroom was large and the water pressure good. Nothing wrong with the hotel at all... just lost a little of its old world sparkle in my humble opinion.

First you have to love the staff. Front desk, concierge, beach staff were all outstanding. Yes the rooms are somewhat dated but the room was huge and the view is magnificent. Breakfast is great for both food and people watching. Same goes for dinner. The beach staff did a great job and worth staying an extra day to spend a full day at the beach. Would go back in a minute.

Loved our stay and love this hotel. We stay on the 5th floor and the room smells of smoke all the time which is a nightmare for anyone with sinus and allergies such as myself. Wish they would make it a non smoking hotel with designated outside smoking areas as most modern hotels are doing.
Also the Bleu Rivage club across the road plays music until 2.30am so it is noisy. Take ear plugs with you.

Dear hotel1803,

First of all, thank you very much for sharing your feedback concerning your recent stay at the Intercontinental Carlton Cannes.
We were pleased to read that you enjoyed your vacations and that our hotel met your expectations in terms of quality.
However,I was sorry to learn about the inconvenience you experienced with the smoke smell.
Smoking is indeed and normally not allowed in a non-smoking room.
It is the reason why ashtrays are not available inside of it.
be sure your comments will be forwarded to the concerned departments in order to avoid any recurrence of such situations .

We sincerely hope you will give us a new opportunity to welcome you back soon at the Carlton.

Best regards

R.Van de Poël
