This is an eclectic shopping street that is closed to traffic, and I like it best for its "foodie" shops. My daughter joined us on this year's trip, and had her husband, a serious "foodie!," been with us, I don't think a day would have gone by without visiting these shops. We spent plenty of time there ourselves!
The bakery, cheese and meat shops are wonderful places for purchasing fabulous breads, cheeses and meats, and there is a very nice olive oil shop along the way. My favorite shop, however, is A Vos Delices, 47, Rue Meynadier. This is a small specialty store that features oils, vinegars and honeys that I bring home to our family and friends...and me! The owners are delightful, and it's always been nice to receive their warm greeting. I never miss visiting this store when I'm in Cannes, and while the city has plenty of other places to buy baguettes, cheeses and prosciutto, the shops on Rue Meynadier are my favorites.
Rue Meynadier can be found near the harbor end of Rue d'Antibes and runs behind and merges into Rue Felix Faure. At the end of Rue d'Antibes, you'll kind of "zig zag" across Rue Marechal Joffre. A Vos Delices is close to the end of Rue Meynadier towards the harbor and on the coastal side of the street. It's tiny, so don't miss it, and it's close to the olive oil shop that's a bit easier to find. The bakery, cheese and meat shops are on the inland side of the street toward Rue d'Antibes.
