Stayed with my wife on a short fall leasure tripin Martinez five days in Mid-October. Season seemed to be almost over in Cannes so many hotels already were gearing down, but not Martinez, where staff worked like the hotel was busy (which it was not).
We had a Prestige Oceanview room, which was superb like the view as well.
The staff was very friendly and worked efficiently. We had dinner the first night in the hotel restaurant downstairs (not the 2 Michelin star one). We were not impressed.
In our package breakfast was included (I believe price would have been 35 euros per person). If I would have had to pay for it, I would not have. It was just average breakfast (and service) with extraordinary price.
Martinez is one of the few hotels with a pool in front of the hotel, which is great. Their private beach was closed for the reason, so we could not use it (pity).
Overall a good experience.

I am at this hotel on business every year in October. I enjoy it very much, the staff is helpful and food terrific. The rooms are spacious with exceptional bathrooms. The rooms are a bit tired but this is part of the ambience of this hotel. Note - things are pricey in Cannes and there is no exception here, that said I still cant fathom how they can charge 8 Euros (10.50) for a 8 oz coca-cola.... robbery!

Room Tip: Of course the rooms facing the sea are exceptional but also ask for a "slight view"

Just returned from 5 days at the Hotel Martinez in Cannes, booked through Travel Republic. The most amazing holiday I have ever been on and I would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone. When we arrived at the airport the shuttle bus was £26 each return and took us to just outside the Hotel Du Ville which is a 10 minute walk along the board de la croisette which is absolutely stunning, like a smaller version of Beverley Hills. When we arrived the hotel was actually a 5 star hotel, not a 4 star as is advertised. Make sure you get the breakfast buffet included otherwise it is £75 for breakfast each morning for 2 people. We easily walked into Cannes centre each evening and found many bars and restaurants with prices very similar to England. There are also 3 supermarkets in Cannes town where you can purchase snacks and water very cheaply. Lots of gift shops selling diamante t-shirts and polo shirts and caps for gents. The weather was hot everyday and some days it had a cool breeze, however you had to use sun factor each day, even at this time of the year. Sitting on the sun loungers by the swimming pool was free at this time of year, but the sun loungers on the private beach outside the hotel was £15.00 per day for 2 people. Before we left the UK I booked an 8 hour day excursion to Monaco with Viator tour code: 2356NCE10_CANNES to depart on the Saturday. This was an amazing trip and Michael from Viator picked us up directly from the hotel and dropped us back in the evening, very easy. We visited Monte Carlo Old Town, the village of Eze, a perfumery factory and we had a very comfy minivan with only 8 of us on the tour. Had many stop off points for photo opportunities and had lots of interesting information given to us along the way. We also had German tourists on the journey and the tour was in both English and German. Beautiful in the day and just the same in the evening with hundreds of palm trees lining every road you go down. Exceptionally low crime rate in Monaco and Cannes and even late at night you could walk around until the early hours and feel very comfortable. Rows of designer shops along the croisette and stunning buildings, if you are a car fanatic the cars you see and the number plates are unbelievable. We ate out every day at lunchtime and in the evening, bought small gifts for relatives and spent approx. 500 euros when we were there, so not as expensive as I thought it would be. Will definately visit again very soon and will also visit Nice next time, Port Grimald and St Tropez on the advice of the locals. I hope you have found this review helpful!!

Beautiful hotel, lovely views of the Mediterranean sea. Get a renovated room. Bathroom was lovely with jacuzzi tub, small sink with little counter space, separate toilet. Nice pool area with great service (Emilie was lovely) Very comfy bed, electric shutters for the window, needed at night for sound as well as light. Concierge was very polite and easy to work with. Location was terrific, right on the Croisette near the Palais, restaurants, upscale shopping. Beach bar has great atmosphere, good food. My only complaint was the wireless service was not available in my room ( I only brought an ipad, no way to hardwire) so I had to go into the lobby to use my device.
