Be aware that the lunchtime menu is at the right of the entrance and the evening menu is at the left. Until 5 or 6 years ago this was one of the best restaurants in Cannes for a good value, set menu lunch. These menus changed little over the years; prices were maintained so inevitably quality fell and lunch became, too often, a disappointment. Very recently, set menu prices have been increased but it is too soon to judge whether or not the lunch experience has improved. The evening menu in the summer months is a different affair – a grilled meat and fish/shellfish; pasta; pizza menu at considerably higher prices. The setting, is very attractive – a large garden area completely surrounded by high walls with bushes/plants, on two levels catering for a large number of diners. Two recent visits suggest pot luck – excellent pizzas from a wood fired oven; some grills done perfectly to order but others rather overdone probably reflecting the sheer number of orders being dealt with. Potato baked in tinfoil is the standard grill accompaniment. Monsieur Le patron loiters about spreading good cheer to approved regulars but ignoring the majority.

Sometimes, even when you're in the south of France, you have an inexplicable craving for a simple, American dish as a change of pace. The barbecued spare ribs at Le Jardin are ideal for that kind of (admittedly rare) situation. They're tender and meaty, the sauce is actually quite good, and the service in the garden is friendly and relatively swift, depending on the day of the week and the hour.

Located in an area that most tourists staying in Cannes would never find but well worth the effort to find it.! It is situated on a quiet road with no other businesses around and the outside is rather deceiving as it looks like any other small bar/restaurant - and you would be forgiven for thinking that there nobody was inside....as the main section of the restaurant is located in the garden and terraces out at the back and cannot be seen from the entrance.

Iron garden chairs, ceramic tables, mature tall trees, some nice lighting all add to the relaxed atmosphere. Staff are very courteous and smiles are plentiful. There appeared to be more French diners than other nationalities...which is usually a good sign.

The menu is varied and would offer something for all tastes.

We had had a late lunch and decided to skip starters and just order one Antipasti for a taster...just as well we did as the portion size was sufficient for all 3 of us to share. Served on a large rectangle plate everything tasted really fresh - corgettes, spring onions, red peppers, aubergines, baby tomatoes, artichokes and mushrooms - approx. 4 pieces of each ...and was cooked to perfection...served with a light vinegrette and crusty bread...delicious..

Two of us opted for the chicken skewers with a lemon sauce - and to be honest, we could have shared one between us as there were approx. 10 good size pieces of chicken on the skewer...and it was accompanied by a jacket potato, mushrooms, ratatouille and baked tomato!

The other dish was a Pasta Carbonara...again it was a huge portion size, perfectly cooked and presented with plenty of bacon and parmesan cheese.

We were all so full that we couldn't even think of ordering a dessert.

This is a restaurant I would certainly return to...if it doesn't become so popular that you can't get a table !

I have a holiday home in Cannes and this place is a favourite for my husband and I. Especially in summer as the atmosphere of sitting in the garden cannot be beat! The food is good, not fancy. But tasty and something for everyone. The service can be a bit slow if very busy, but always warm and with a smile. We bring friends here because it's something you won't find unless you are local and it's something special, like eating in the garden of a big Villa with a big big family. We were there again 2 nights ago and it did not disappoint.
