Be aware that the lunchtime menu is at the right of the entrance and the evening menu is at the left. Until 5 or 6 years ago this was one of the best restaurants in Cannes for a good value, set menu lunch. These menus changed little over the years; prices were maintained so inevitably quality fell and lunch became, too often, a disappointment. Very recently, set menu prices have been increased but it is too soon to judge whether or not the lunch experience has improved. The evening menu in the summer months is a different affair – a grilled meat and fish/shellfish; pasta; pizza menu at considerably higher prices. The setting, is very attractive – a large garden area completely surrounded by high walls with bushes/plants, on two levels catering for a large number of diners. Two recent visits suggest pot luck – excellent pizzas from a wood fired oven; some grills done perfectly to order but others rather overdone probably reflecting the sheer number of orders being dealt with. Potato baked in tinfoil is the standard grill accompaniment. Monsieur Le patron loiters about spreading good cheer to approved regulars but ignoring the majority.
