“Excellent Experience”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Fantastic stay. We received an upgrade to sea view room. Excellent attention to detail and the service from Margaux Brunie from Guest Relations was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and we wished we had stayed longer than one night.
Roof top pool is one of the best views in Cannes, and although the pool was slightly small the facilities provided a very relaxing break from the beach and street life. Roof top staff were very pleasant and helpful.
We would certainly recommend the hotel, and look forward to a return stay.

In great location, nice stroll to the old town and close to shops as well as being right on the sea front. Lovely lobby, excellent staff who made us feel very welcome. Room a good size and nice partial sea view. Breakfast and snacks at pool bar good but food in restaurant in evening not as good as we would have expected.

We stayed at the JW for five nights on Marriot points. For that reason, I have a hard time complaining, however, had I paid to stay I would definitely have been disappointed. The staff was generally pleasant and helpful, however, it always seemed as if the hotel was overcrowded and understaffed. The location is great and the rooftop view is excellent. On the other hand, the walls are thin (we could hear people coming in at all hours of the night, as well as music from the beach club), the pool is tiny, and many of the common areas seemed worn and/or dirty. Also, we reserved a queen bed and were given two twins which the hotel had not even bothered to put a pad on. In sum, I wouldn't recommend paying to stay here, especially during busy season with its higher prices and bigger crowds.

My wife and I spent four days at the JW Marriott with very high expectations of having a very a great hotel experience.
I have traveled extensively both on business and pleasure staying at Marriott properties.
The typical JW is a great high end hotel
Unfortunately, the JW in Cannes was just the opposite.
The rooms were small, not clean, had mirrors broken, with mold in the shower.
The space for the commode was so small you could barely enter the space.
The hallway carpet was dirty, worn and in general in disrepair.
The elevators were hot and smelly
The roof top pool was small and water was cloudy very unappealing. The roof top views were very nice especially the sunsets
The staff was very pleasant and very helpful
All in all not a pleasant experience.
This oe Marriott I will not return to

Great customer relations from the moment you drive your car into the driveway till you leave.
The lounge was sumptuous and there was a dedicated concierge and a reception.
The staff were extremely pleasant and very helpful. Nothing was too much for room service or reception.
The room was clean, tastefully decorated and had enough storage, a minibar, ironing......... the whole package with a wonderful range of aromatherapy soaps and moisture risers.
There was a nice shower and very comfortable separate bath - and wonderfully (knee and hip sufferers will understand) a toilet was taller than usual therefore quite comfortable.
And more............. the bed was one to sink in!
The location was excellent - next to the malmaison gallery and the designer shops overlooking the seafront/ beach.
Much as I loved the hotel I felt it was expensive (€399/ night for room only) and the internet was charged for (€24/day) as was parking (€40/day). Also the gym was surprisingly basic with only a handful of pieces of equipment! There was no spa!

Room Tip: Internet is free in the lounge and could be picked up in the corridors - it is worth using this inst...

Location is great - and everyonw knows that. But what is amazing is the overall service.
We were welcomes at the front desk by Rafik who gave us a great room that overlooked the garden and partial sea view. Julie at the reception along with her colleagues are warm and super efficient.
First night we were invited to drinks at the top floor terrace and given a priveledge seat to watch the fireworks - fantastic start. Largely responsible for the fab experience was Lindsay. Great young man. His colleague Michele was equally effixient. So were the Two wonderful ladies who manned the enterence to the restaurant that evening.
Philippe and the rest of his colleagues will go out of their way at rhw Conceirge desk to plan your trips and tours around.

The location is great. The hotel itself is really overrated, I guess the price is for the location only. Rooms are just too much. Made me feel dizzy and claustrophobic. Though I can see that the style was intentional and I guess people like it. For me everything was ruined when I found bed bugs in my bed! I was offered new room fast and I got to cancel our next night at the hotel. But the entire night I was up and trying to see if this room had bed bugs too. Luckily I didn´t find them, my parents didn´t have them in their room as well. The staff is good. Next day we were offered a suite so we wouldn´t leave, but I just felt bed bug feeling everywhere and we refused (so glad we did, because we booked next hotel in Milan and we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite, happy ending). Breakfast was good, the view was great from outside.

Room Tip: Definitely try to get a room with a sea view or with balcony.
