We booked this hotel through Eurostar, selecting it based on the reviews on Tripadvisor.
I e-mailed the hotel three times prior to arriving but never received a reply. On arrival the gentleman behind reception showed me that he had replied (they must still be in the ether somewhere!). There was a small dispute over payment, I had paid in advance for the hotel with Eurostar but his records did not show this. However, this was sorted out.
You must be aware that the hotel is up two flights of stairs with no lift so this may be a problem to some less able guests.
Our room, which was rather small, was on the front and although it was clean, there was a permenant musty smell in it. This was due to the bathroom window being fixed shut and there being no means of ventilation - all the steam and condensation remained in the bathroom. The weather was very warm and although there was air conditioning in the room it was rather noisy and could not be left on all night. You could not leave the window open at night as it made it even hotter. The matress on the bed unfortunately sagged towards the middle and was not very comfortable. We had upgraded to a superior room although I am not sure whether we had been given a superior room.
All the reception staff were friendly and greeted us each time we passed through reception. We were offered advice on things to do and where to eat.
We had the breakfast on two mornings, but as others have said, it is rather dear and there are numerous cafes nearby that offer the same fare for less money.
The hotel is just 10 minutes walk from the station, two minutes from the Rue D'Antibes and a five minute walk to La Croisette which makes it very well placed. It is in a quite side street and we experienced very little traffic or pedestrian noise.
I would have rated this hotel higher if it were not for the small, musty room and the uncomfortable bed.
