“Not a 4 star”
Reviewed May 31, 2010

We spent a long weekend at this hotel, and although it was clean, modern and pleasant it was definitely not up to 4 star standards.
The superior room was 158€ / night, without breakfast, but was very dark, with 2 small windows looking out on the staff stairase. Despite looking new, the ceiling painting had an area which looked like it must have had a leak and then been patched up (badly).
Breakfast was not included in the price and was 17€ per person. Internet connection was 8€ / hour (or 20€ / 24h), which we thought was ludicrous. Access to the so called "private" beach was 15€ per person per day (when we were there we had it at a special offer of 12-13€) which basically gave you a lounger. A towel was an extra 5€ (or 3€ from the hotel). I think anyone can access the bech and pay the same price for the lounger.
We were extremely put off with all these extras, and will definitely not be coming back.

I have to say I have tried almost everything in Cannes except for the luxury hotels. The Cezanne is 10 minutes walk from the Palais, you walk all the way down Rue D'Antibes, leaving the Palais behind and you reach it quite easily. It's off the big avenue that limits the center of Cannes.
The rooms are nice, although I tell you, ask for the second or the third floor rooms, because in the ground floor or the first one you can get very small rooms.
One thing I hate about this hotel is that it is kitsch, in a way. The rooms are grey and pink, the lights in the lobby are electric blue and I really see no sense for decoring a place with such a bad taste.
Breakfast is vey international, rich in food and drinks, although rather expensive if not included in your hotel room fare (17 euro).
There is a small SPA in the underground floor , with a Turkish bath and massage room, I used it once, nothing special, but it can be nice after you spend the whole day woalking around and meeting clients.
Staff extremely corteous and friendly I must say, it is not so common in the country.

Hotel Cezanne was decent. The room was clean and modern with a nice bathroom. It was on the smaller side and a bit dark. We took advantage of the small gym in the basement which was serviceable. The best part about the hotel was its location - a very easy walk to the heart of town and the beach. I would recommend this hotel as a no frills place to stay in Cannes.

Got a suite for the price of a room at 130 euros. 2 rooms with flat screens in each. Very clean and modern looking.Separated shower and bath. Service and breakfast were excellent. Food a bit expensive but it's almost the same everywhere in France. Only 2 gripes: Very difficult to reach hotel with a rental car due to all the one ways and the Cannes festival and the hotel only has 5 parking spots. Luckily, there is a public parking a block away. The shower is badly designed and likely to leek out the door.

only 23 rooms makes this a select hotel.... found the reception guys and girls at breakfast very freindly and helpful. i would reccommend booking a room not on the same floor as reception as we could hear people coming and going, day and night. we did try to swap room but with it being film festival week the hotel was full..If you like a early morning cuppa take a travel kettle as there is none in rooms.
rooms are very small but are very nicely decorated ,i would book a junior suite if we go again.. hotel is well located in a reasonably quiet area, but in walking distance of the front and shops. DONT use the taxis as they will rip you off.. 90 euro from the airport was a tad excessive... rent a car.. parking is free at front of hotel between 7pm and 8pm.
we were celebrating our silver wedding and would not hesitate in reccomending this hotel...... fFGW...of Wigan..... 7 day stay.

We have just returned from 10 days at the Hotel Cezanne and found it a lovely place to stay. However I'd like to advise anyone thinking of hiring a car to beware of the underground car park - very very tight!!!!! My husband scraped the side of our hire car at the entrance and blew the clutch on the way out!!
The rooms are very nice if a bit on the small side but we had 2 connecting rooms for ourselves and 2 daughters so we had double the storage space and of course 2 bathrooms.
Breakfast is a bit on the expensive side at 17 Euro each so after the first day we went to various cafes which are nearby.
The location of the hotel is good but the walk down to the main part of town and the beach involves crossing a very busy dual carriageway. It's worth it though to reach Rue d'Antibes - the main shopping street! Speaking of the beach, it's really nice to go the hotel's private beach on the Croisette. The food in the restaurant is fantastic, but the "beach salesmen" get a bit annoying after the 20th time of saying "Non merci" to sunglasses!
I'd read other reviews of the hotel complaining about noise levels but we didn't find any problems at all, in fact our 3rd floor room was very quiet.
