“The best New Year's eve meal in a while...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

Our arrival was a little perturbing as there had been a mixup and our reservation was not held. However we stood our ground and the restaurant did their best and we were accommodated. At first we were in the entrance blocking the coats and some rest room access but all was solved by replacing a table for two with one for four and we were swiftly transferred. Then our celebration meal truly began and it was excellent. Instead of the fancy bits and pieces so beloved of some New Year's restaurants we had a proper meal with good choices and everyone was pleased. The amuse bouche did more than just amuse and was a delightful wee pot of creamy risotto with mushroom. Starter choices were between foie gras with trimmings or scallops in a lush green sauce (leeks with eschalot maybe). I enjoyed the latter. Mains were either filet de boeuf or sea bass served with legumes oublies (parsnips (which are making a comeback in France, potato and turnips). Sweets were Grand Marnier Souffle or chocolat mousse with an orange pyramid. The service was very good and just the right amount of levity for the season. Certainly this visit suggests a return sometime soon. I do think if a restaurant measures up on such an occasion with a very full house it is to be recommended. Merci L'Affable you are fabled.

“Great food, don't rush us please”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2012 via mobile

This is a great place for dinner in Cannes.
Went there on a Saturday, please book in advance as it's pretty busy.
The food is great. As an amateur chef myself, I picked up a couple of great ideas.
Of course, their Grand Marnier Souflé serves commendation and respect, it is simply divine.
Mental note to self : if you don't like to be rushed... Please mention it to the wait staff, as the kitchen is literally letting maximum 5 minutes between each dish. We did ask and the went accordingly, which is good

“Great Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2012

Don't miss this little Gem, when you are in Cannes!
We started lunch with a pumpkin risotto, wonderful.
For the main course we chose Thai style ribs with shredded cabbage.
The ribs could be eaten with a spoon, they just fell off the bone.
A sweet strong mustard that was served with it gave an extra sting..
Dessert: a Cointreau soufflé that tasted like a cloud of sweetness.
All this at a lunch!
Reservations are recommended!

Service was excellent, simple menu even if you don't speak French. Fun to see the kitchen staff through the glass window.
