We have just returned from Villa Garbo after spending a few days to celebrate our silver wedding. The rooms were modern, comfortable and clean. We had a junior suite which had a small kitchen area. The air conditioning worked well . We enjoyed the open bar in the evenings and had a drink before going out for our evening meal and reflected on our day whilst sitting on the terrace. The staff were polite and accomodating. We were on the ground floor and could hear alot of movement from other guests. I would recommend asking for an upper floor which we were offered on arrival for an additional 50 euros per night but we declined as we were using the hotel as a base and not spending much time in our room. Location wise a nice 10 minute walk to the seafront. We had a great few days in Cannes and vistited St Margarita Island and Monte Carlo which were within easy travelling distance. The seafront restaurants are a must do in Cannes as the view and experience is wonderful

Room Tip: ask for an upper floor room as it may be quieter than ground floor

We stayed at Villa Garbo for four nights mid August 2012 and it was an excellent experience, fantastic service, great rooms, ours had a small kitchen, the supermarket is a block away to stock up if you not want to eat out every day. Not too far from the beach and shopping streets, Old Town +/- 20 minutes walk, if we should go back to Cannes we will go back.

It was such a pleasure to stay at Villa Garbo. From the second we stepped through the doors we felt at home. Ramina greeted us and made us feel so welcome, something that is missing from most hotel experiences. Being a boutique hotel we really felt like it was a special place to be. The room was very well decorated and with the small kitchen and dining area, was a well designed layout. Villa Garbo is located near the main shopping street and a short walk to the beach. The walk to the old town was a little further, about a 20 minute walk, but worth the stroll. The breakfast offered lovely croissants and fruit. The staff were what made our stay as enjoyable as it was. From reception to housekeeping (who helped us with the washing machine!) were excellent. We regret only staying one night, but will definitely return again.

We stayed at Villa Garbo during our stay in Cannes in the beginning of June and we really enjoyed our experience there. The rooms are spacious and clean, and we liked the fact that it's a small boutique hotel. We went right after the Cannes film festival, so it was pretty quiet everywhere in the city.

The manager and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We also really enjoyed the daily breakfast delivered to our room as well as the open bar offered everyday from 6-8. That really adds to the hotel experience.

We would definitely go back during our next stay in Cannes.

I loved, loved, loved to stay at Villa Garbo. Friendly, great service, beautiful rooms - and the best breakfast ever! I'll be dreaming of the freshly baked croissants for months! The location is also perfect - just at the end of Rue d'Antibes.

We had a great experience staying at Villa Garbo. When traveling we like to stay in high end boutique hotels and Villa Garbo did not disappoint. Our room and the overall facility was fantastic. Breakfast daily and incredibly helpful and friendly management and staff. The hotel owner and manager truly seemed to care that we made the most of our time in Cannes and helped with everything from directions to translation to shopping! our room was fabulous with a great balcony where we ate breakfast every morning. The bathroom was beautiful and offered an oversized tub and rain shower. Location is also very good. Not right on the busy La Croisette but within 2 blocks of the beach, shopping and very close to Le Suquet.

We chose this hotel after an extensive review of hotels in the area. We stayed for a couple of nights and were very pleased with our choice. It is a beautiful hotel, the charming facade having been preserved when the hotel was rebuilt. Our room (a junior suite) was spacious & well appointed; the bathroom included a fast hairdryer, very nice towels, dressing gowns & slippers. The only thing missing was a full-length mirror.

We parked in a side street next to the hotel which was fine for that night as the parking meter finished at 7pm and we were planning to be away within the first two hours of the next day's charging period. However, it was much more relaxing to park the car on site (this is limited so pre-booking is advised) the next day, well worth the 25 Euros to avoid the hassle!

The welcome given to us on arrival was excellent and after unpacking & showering we were ready to enjoy an aperitif. The hotel offers its guests complimentary drinks between 6pm and 8pm and we found their rose and white wines very pleasant.

The hotel has no restaurant but serves a buffet breakfast in the foyer and we were given a number of restaurant recommendations for dinner. We only had two evenings and tried two different restaurants, L'Affable and L'Antidote, both serving superb food.

The hotel was just across from the Rue d'Antibes, the principal shopping area and a short walk to La Croisette. Even though it was close to the railway line, the hotel was a haven of peace and we heard absolutely nothing.

We were told on arrival that we might experience problems with the iPad and the wifi, however, both the iPad and iPhone worked perfectly using the hotel's complimentary wifi.

I would recommend this hotel as an excellent base for exploring Cannes.
