“Just love to return.”
Reviewed November 18, 2011

Just finished another fine meal here. It is a friendly local restaurant where the team split with the husband chef and wife front of house. My simple steak was cooked to perfection only to be surpassed by the home made and simple apple tart. 31 euro including wine makes this dinner good value for money too. I will return again soon.

“Fantastic food and service”
Reviewed October 8, 2011

Had dinner in this restaurant last August. Fresh food cooked by the chef, Stefan, and served with a smile by his wife Christina.
I had an octopus salad to start.Had never tasted it before and it was lovely. Had Frito Misto (fried seafood) for mains..only one word to describe it...DELICIOUS.
Stefan came to our table to see how we liked the food. We had some questions about the local fish, which we asked in French, and he answered us..displaying his great knowledge and love of gastronomy.
Check opening days and book in advance.

“If you love food, you must go here”
Reviewed July 28, 2011

This is one of my all time favourite restaurants (ten minutes drive west of Nice) and, if you love food, you should go there. Again, it can be difficult to find 'excellent' French restaurants on the Cote D'Azur, but this is definitely one of them. Owned and run by Stefan (le chef) and his wife Christina, it is located on the busy main/market street of Cros de Cagnes (Avenue des Oliviers). The restaurant is very cute and has space for a few tables outside.

The food....oh my....despite its size, there is considerable choice written daily on a blackboard. I tend to opt for the fish which is always stunningly fresh but I also have gone for the beef which is equally good. Stefan's motto is to have really good quality food served as it should be (never overpowered by sauces etc). Everything is always cooked absolutely fresh....so, if you have to wait a while, the outcome will be very worth it. Whilst I do not have a great sweet tooth, I do tend to always have desserts here because they are soooo good....in particularly, his warm chocolate gateau!!!

There is a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and you will be warmly welcomed. Stefan always comes out of the kitchen to check that his clients are happy with their meal - he loves talking about food. I also think they are reasonable priced for the quality of food served. I can not recommend this restaurant highly enough.....it is more than worth a drive from Nice to have lunch or dinner here.

“excellent food, the local feel of a small fisherman village on the French riviera”
Reviewed September 1, 2010

”La Trappe” is a very nice restaurant or le chef cooks only fresh and seasonal products. He is able to work wonders by creating subtle Mediterranean dishes without fuzz. The setting and service are simple and unobtrusive which is a quality as it allows guests to feel at home. I lived 20 years in the town and I did all the restaurants by the sea. I recommend this one without reservation. On the price side, there are decent making your stay on the French Riviera an agreeable experience, especially near the small fishing port of Cros de Cagnes.
