Last Christmas my wife offered me a dinner at La Réserve as present. She knows I am a passionate of luxury hotels and, since I work in the hotel industry, I always says her that La Réserve is the hotel where I would like to work.
Upon arrival we were enchanted by the lights of the garden: even if Beaulieu is charming yet a bit sad in winter, La Réserve is a glittering gem. We were kindly escorted to the restaurant. At the entrance there was a trio of musicians (guitar, piano and violin). We were escorted to the table, which was well prepared and classy.
My wife ordered à la carte and I chose the more affordable prix fixe menu. Wow! All the dishes were superbly presented and excellent. Perhaps you would expect something more extravagant from a 2 Michelin stars restaurant but the delicious food, together with the service and the style well deserve their rating.
The evening was enhanced by the guitar and the violin, which came among the tables at times and made the experience not only gastronomic but also realxed and funny. After the bill (expensive!) we stayed another 15 minutes thanks to them. My wife ordered a tea and the maitre d' kindly offered it. What a class! I work in a hotel on the coast but I hope one day they will hire me!!!
