“Lovely hotel, superb views, very friendly staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2014

I have just come back from a stay here and would definitely recommend it; it felt like a taste of luxury at a reasonable price. We had a sea view room, and the views from the balcony were superb; watching the sun go down was a real treat, and it was always fascinating to see the comings and goings in the port. The room was very clean and comfortable; the pool was a real bonus and was very pleasant to use in the afternoon. The views from the roof terrace were stunning. The buffet breakfast was served till 10.30 and there was always plenty of choice. The friendly staff were very helpful, particularly on our last day, when they helped me confirm our flight, stored our luggage till the evening and then sorted out a taxi to take us to the airport.

I'd definitely recommend this hotel. They offer good customer service. We initially had a problem with the air conditioning in our room, but once the manager identified the issue, he offered to move us to another sea view room, which was beautifully cool.

Room Tip: Room 223 is excellent. It has lovely views of the bay and port.

I have just returned from the south of France. I spent 2 days in Nice and 4 more at the Frisia hotel. After the apartment on the Promenade in Nice which will be for another review, I moved to the Frisia.
What a difference. The view was to die for, we had booked a sea view for an extra charge per day. It was worth it. The view is spectacular, I could almost smell the salt water from our balcony.
Not only was the location picturesque but the staff were the most friendly I had come across for a long time.
I would highly reccomend this hotel and itss absolutely fabulous view.

Room Tip: Get the sea view but there is a little road noise, if you can ignore this then the sea view is astou...

Had a 5 night stay here in 2013. I had never been to the area before but were with friends who were, so it was quite easy to get around. The hotel is ideally in between Nice and Monaco with very easy access to buses and train to get around. The hotel was spotless and very reasonable for the area. Great base to travel round to all the sites. Would definitely recommend it.

Anyone reading my reviews will see a constant theme.....looking to find first class hotels, in quiet locations away from the madding crowd, at a cheekily low price and close enough to the airport.

The Hotel Frisia ticked all the boxes.

As others have have said, this is a small, spotless hotel in a superb location overlooking a quiet, impressive marina. Sea view rooms an absolute MUST!! or the stay will be just average.

First time to the Cote d'Azur and have been mesmerized by the stunning natural beauty of the area. Beaulieu sits quietly and very tidily between Nice and Monaco. The small town centre is quiet (in May at least) whilst the marina hosts a score of pleasant eateries along the waterline, offering a fabulously relaxed experience. Whilst Nice and Monaco have there own attractions within easy reach, Beaulieu is peaceful,

Must visits? As the books will tell you, take a trip up the hills to Eze and walk up the to the Chateau and Jardin Exotique. We didn't want to pay Euros 30 to view the gardens but the views from the top and breathtaking. Honestly! The other local jewel is Villefrance, which is THE most beautiful little bay, just a few kilometers towards Nice. We took a boat trip around the area and it visits the bay and the adjacent Cap Ferat peninsular. Views of villas owned by Bill Gates, Elton John, Mick Jagger, King Farooq, Tina Turner, Sean Connery....... go to confirm that this is the most ideal setting. The bay is 450m deep(!) and you will see cruise ships anchored whilst visiting. Some unbelievable cruising yachts too!

The hotel....we were warmly greeted at reception, despite arriving well before time. Our room was not quite ready but the receptionist happily suggested she re-appoint a room on the top floor with sea views. "it's a better room..." Room 445. As you walk in, the vista is a postcard view of the Med on top of the marina.

No evening food though breakfast is available. We decided on coffee and orange juice at various locations we had penciled in during our stay.

There is a roof terrace which was again quiet with stunning views. And the pool area was clean and well maintained.

OK, so there is traffic up and down the B road which runs in front of the hotel. But not a busy road and most of the background noise is by mopeds and motor bikes. It was fun listening out for the regular enough strains of a passing Ferrari giving a quick blast up the hill.

All this for E120 a night?? There places up the road which charge that for a coffee!! Which was another pleasant surprise. We are not scrooges, but don't like being mugged off. Almost everywhere will be restaurants where two can dine well, carafe of wine for 50/60 Euros.

In summary. Stunning area, fabulous location and views, under-priced and spotless.

Room Tip: Hire a car..E100 for 4 days gets you to places you would not otherwise see. Drink wine. Good quali...

We have stayed at the Frisia for a number of years and we have recommended it to many friends. The views from the front rooms over the marina and the sea are superb. There is a great sun terrace on the roof with loungers and tables and chairs. The owner has made on-going improvements including a swimming pool and refurbished sea-facing rooms. The marina with its bars and restaurants is a five minute stroll. The beach is ten minutes in one direction and the train station the same distance up into the town. It's far and away our favourite spot in the South of France and we will be going back as soon as we can!

Room Tip: Sea facing corner rooms have the best views

Bravo to Hotel Frisia--nicely appointed/maintained at a reasonable price. In early April my husband and I stayed at Hotel Frisia four 4 nights and were captivated by the stunning view over the yacht harbor. From the private balcony of our spacious corner room on the top floor (just below the observation deck), we could also see the mountains which was an unexpected treat. We very much appreciated the comfy bed (two singles secured together), nice bed linens, good bedside reading lamps, large, beautifully tiled bathroom (sparkling 2-person tub/good pressure/abundance of hot water) with a transom window offering a view of the arched stone support middle mountain highway off in the distance. (Some days the towels were less thick than others but perfectly acceptable.) The room had quiet automated blinds and the balcony also had an automated awning. Other than the bed, for seating In the room there was one chair with an upholstered seat plus one small bench. Super clean! The pool area was very attractive--plenty of contemporary lounge furniture. We were too busy to take advantage of the pool (unheated, I was told) but other guests were using it. Just around the corner from the hotel was the bus that goes to Eze (1.50 euros/person/one-way) and the train station was about a 6-minute walk, even wheeling a suitcase. During check-out we had the chance to chat (in English) with the owner--super congenial and obviously took great pride in his property. He seemed genuinely interested in how we found our stay. Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Consider booking a room on the mountain side if you're sensitive to street noise. Ask about sta...

Spent three nights at this hotel in a double sea view room.
Had a very enjoyable stay. We were located on the second floor at the end of the building. We had an amazing view. We overlooked the Marina and could also see the mountains to the side of the building.
The room was comfortable and updated. The hotel provided a large baby cot free of charge. The bathroom is spacious and the shower has good water pressure. Also good storage in the entrance.
Even though we had a balcony we also made use of the roof top terrace as it has sun all day. Great views also from the top.
Only a five minute walk from the train station and centre of town.
Highly recommend.
