This hotel has been on the list for a few years, and finally we got to experience it. 4 nights in early July - what a treat.

We had a corner room on the top floor with great sea and pool views, facing Cap Ferrat - 2 juliet balconies provided light and air in abundance.

The lunches on the terrace were marvellous as was the special treat in the restaurant in the evening.

Service was impeccable, although the pool attendant guy needs a tip before he gets interested.

Have a walk around Cap Ferrat and lunch at Paloma Beach.

Overall this is one of the best small hotels in Europe, great service, food, location..............the only thing they can't do is make a decent club sandwich. I thought that at 50€ it must be special...............don't be tempted..............rubbish!

Massive recommend for a romantic short break.

Room Tip: Room 44 for great views, corner sea and pool view.

I totally disagree with the previous review. I have stayed at this hotel several times and it is still excellent in every way, I have just returned from my last lengthy visit. I can only assume that the previous reviewer has no concept of class, a quality which the hotel has in abundance. ( I always look at a reviewers review profile to make a judgement on their level of experience). Yes the restaurant has lost a Michelin star due to a change of chef, but judging by our experience of the food on this visit it will probably not be long before they regain the second star. The service from all the staff in the hotel from the concierge to housekeeping was faultless, very friendly and efficient. It is expensive but one expects that, if you cannot afford the prices don't stay there.

The location is great, between Nice and Monaco, right on the sea front making the pool area very enjoyable. Yet, the standards applied were certainly relevant in the 80s but are not contemporary any more. The place lives in the past and has not been able to adapt to the quality and modernity that you should expect in such establishment. Rooms and equipment are getting tired and well below standards of luxury hotels.
Only prices have been catching up at speed if not even faster than best places in the world. Unfortunately there is a flair of decadence.... From 2 stars Michelin to 1 star only, which could even be challenged... In terms of service, staff is nice and polite but quite ineffective... Only the sommelier is a nice character who knows his job and does it very well.

Madame, Monsieur,

Cordialement,

We, a family of 5 + dog, have been fortunate enough to stay in some fabulous hotels over the years; so expectations were high. However; La Reserve managed to surpass our expectations effortlessly! Usually there is the "this place is great but if...it would be perfect". Not so here; we just can't think of anything that there should be more of, or less of, to make it perfect. It already is. We stayed in one the spacious and tastefully furnished serviced appartments just across the road from the hotel building (Residance de la Reserve) which could have been just a little inconvenient but the way this was managed by the hotel staff made it seamless. Basic supplies are in the appartment, so no need to go and "shop" for a tea bag on arrival. All staff are highly professional and very attentive. No need to ever quote a room number when order or ask for something - they just know. At times they even know what you haven't asked for - yet. Food is excellent, if a little pricey, and it is served in a manner that would make even a slice of toast look great.
The heated sea water pool is worth mentioning too. It is located directly at the sea so, no need for a beach and magnificent views.
If you love effortless, elegant, but not flashy, perfection then this place is for you.

Room Tip: If you like a bit more of your own space - and spaciousness - then the serviced appartments are a good alternative to a traditional hotel room.

It is impossible to fault this hotel. Quiet, elegant, spectacular service, discretion, everything that anyone with taste could possibly wish for. Money speaks here ... in quiet discretion, in excellent staff, beautiful rooms, wonderful food, elegance, without Hollywood flashiness. This is a hotel of dreams, I would like to die and go to heaven at La Reserve. I cannot possibly fault it.

Room Tip: Its all magnificent!
