We spend a lot of time in Antibes and le Comptoir is our firmly established favourite restaurant. Beautiful food and reasonable prices in a cosy romantic setting.

Très joli, très charmeux, et très tasty! The prix fixe is a steal at 30 euros for a three-course meal from the set menu or 36 for three courses of your choice.

My fiancé had the set menu of the night which included homemade Gorgonzola ravioli served with a petit Belgian endive salad, a main dish of creamy black rice and octopus, beautifully presented inside a cabbage leaf with fresh flowers, and a pear with sweet cream sauce for dessert. I chose a starter of potatoes and spices, whipped to the texture of a thick custard, followed by a main dish of two plump medallions of rare tuna, wrapped in crispy phylllo dough, served with field greens and a tangy ginger sauce, and a scrumptious lemon parfait for dessert that literally exploded in my mouth--they included a type of sizzling sweet sugar that popped as you ate it. We chose the house wine by the glass and were not disappointed. The service was good, the ambience was charming and romantic and the meal was superb! Highly recommended!

I have been to Le Comptoir on three occasions, and each time I thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. The menu is exciting and does not conform to the same few dishes that get churned out by just about every restaurant in the South of France.

The food has always been excellent, and comes beautifully presented. The ambiance is very cosy, but with no outdoor space it is not so well suited to July and August.

It is quite pricey, but I have spent more on meals in Antibes for food that does not even compete to that at Le Comptoir.

It is always full, so reservation is recommended.

We have visited this lovely ambient restaurant a few times, as we are both Londoners and also Antiboise locals.
The food is always really fresh, beautifully cooked and presented, with great flavour & skill.
Our last visit was New Year's Eve 2011-2012.
We are usually very, very reluctant to adhere to spending money on 'set' menus like new years eve, valentines day etc ... as usually the restaurant see it as a way to simply massively 'bump' up their prices!!
Whilst Le Comptoir's new year's menu was €75 per head, each delicious course was freshly cooked and absolutely divine!! WELL WORTH EVERY EURO!!
There was an amuse bouche of truffled, new potato and a veloute, then the sweetest, freshest scallops cooked 2 ways, then gorgeous homemade lobster raviolis, then fillet of beef, en croute, with escalope of foie gras, then a selection of cheeses and finally a beautiful desert of homemade vanilla nougatine ice cream, with a spun-sugar basket topped with a sparkler.

It also has to be said, that on the table next to us, we noticed that the lady said she could not eat shellfish and despite not forewarning/discussing this with the restaurant before her scallops arrived. The waitress quickly took this plate away, without any fuss. The proprietor/chef Nicolas, quickly, freshly made another more suitable dish for this person.
Under the circumstances, very, very few restaurants would offer such service!

Advisable to book, as it's a favourite restaurant destination for many!
