“Antibes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

We stayed here(mature couple)late September for 3 nights.
Comfortable and clean and we had no complaints.Helpful staff and close to everything in Antibes.(We walked from the train station and explored everywhere on foot)
Definitely ,reccommend and would stay here again.
We stayed in the Venise room...little bit of street noise but not bothersome and did not keep me awake at night (and I am a light sleeper).
Excellent value for the money.

We stayed in Relais Postillon at end of September in the Selmun room which was great. Having a balcony was a real bonus. The location was very central to Antibes and for getting around the coast either towards Nice or Cannes. We did not eat there so can't coment on food, but definitely would return.

Not for everyone but i return whenever I go to Antibes.
small, 2 star hotel. Noisy on streetside (trash collectors, street sweepers, kids in playground), noisy kids in schholgrounds at the back. Groaning elevator noise from the inside. So if peace and quiet is wanted, it won't be found here.
Each room is different. They are a bit old and shabby with plumbing issues (charm?) And despite one stay 2 years ago when i awoke to bloody sheets and self from bug bites (bed bugs?), I keep returning for the location and lovely covered breakfast/apperitif area at the front of the hotel.
No A/C. Sweltered under thick bedding (September ) until i asked for a simple sheet.
You can leave the windows open but will most likey stumble up ealry in the morning to shut out the noise. Good staff and breakfast. I always meet interesting people here.
Tiny elevator( but at least there is one as there are 4 floors!) big enough for 1 person with a bag.

Room Tip: French hotel rooms are generally small. you need to pay the higher rate to get a bigger room. Street...

My husband and I stayed in the Malta room (top floor, balcony) for 2 nights in early September. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Having a balcony was wonderful, as it gave us a chance to look out on all the comings and goings in the square. The downstairs bar/front patio was also a nice, relaxing place to sit and watch the world go by. I must say that Gregory's coffee is excellent! The location is great - within easy walking distance to 2 different beaches (and the owners gave us beach towels, umbrellas, and mats). This hotel is an extremely good value, and is charming as well. We will definitely stay here again.

A friend and I shared a small double room for two nights and it was wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, well maintained and charming. I would definitely stay here again.

The walls are a bit thin, so if you're a light sleeper and you have a noisy neighbour then you might not be happy. Also, rooms at the back face a primary or nursery school, so if you're staying during term time be prepared for a lively wake up call.

We skipped the €8 breakfast and had pastries and coffee in town. Also, hit the market and build your own picnic lunch to take to the beach!

Hotel is an excellent base for exploring Antibes. Our. Room "nice" overlooked the square, two large French windows, clean. Bathroom, big comfortable bed, nice bed linen and good pillows, tv, fan. Very friendly welcome, nice safe location. All positive so a good choice. We paid 111 euro per night. About right for what you get. Free WiFi. Close to bus station.

I stayed in the Relais du Postillon with my two grown-up daughters in the height of the season. The hotel exceeded all expectations. If you want 5 star luxury and decor this is not the place for you. However, if you want 5 star service and friendliness then I suggest you book.
Perfect location for exploring Antibes... a town which has lots of character. Despite having a marina/port full of super yachts, the town has managed to keep an old fashioned 'quaintness' which isn't obvious in most of it's neighbours. The bars and restaurants have a great atmosphere and there is some really great food to be found. Ask Jonathan for recommendations.
