I am on a working holiday in Antibes and try to get to the markets as much as I can. Everything I have ever got from there has been fresh and long lasting and delicious. The fruit especially is my favourite. A descent sized box of cherries for €4 yes please! Every stall is friendly and honest. The man selling sweets (mini croissants, ravoli and macaroons) has the best citrus creme ravoli and yummy macaroons. There is also a stall there selling natural handmade soaps, essential oils and herbs which are great little gifts and all at really good price. Yum I love being here :)

I love markets and each year we spend a lot of time sussing them out. And this one so far has been the best on the Cote D'azur. If you love this take a trip to Genoa's marcato Orientale, even better.
The fruit and vegetables were considerably more expensive than other markets but excellent quality.
As other reviewers suggest, buy food for a picnic and enjoy.

Visit the market before 1 pm for delicious tastes, smells, and sights! Purchase a straw basket because you'll want something to carry all your purchases home in! The nearby streets Rue Sade and Rue Clemenceau feature more shops and restaurants. A perfect morning outing before heading to the beach in the afternoon!

We stumbled upon the market by accident on a sunday morning while looking for a restaurant and decided instead to buy food at the market and some wine at a nearby store and do a picnic in a park in Cannes. The whole thing as a memorable experience, from the shopping to the eating, topped off with with a nap in the park. What a great way to spend a Sunday on the côte d'Azure!

The market is quite busy and very animated which makes for an exciting ambiance. Merchants offer a wide variety of products to choose from and everything looks so fresh and tasty: cheese, olives and tapenade, charcuteries, fish, meat, fruit and vegetable, spice, bread, pizza cooked in a portable oven, etc. It's easy to be overwhelmed by all the choices but the merchants are very generous with their explanations and will usually offer to taste anything before you buy it.
