Puzzled by other reviews; those in English are poor, those in French good. We were a party of 5 from UK and just walked in for lunch. At the end we all conlcuded it was the best 'lunch out' in last 10 days for service, food and value. Steak Tartare was great as were chips, pate, mussels, lasagne and tagliatelle.

Went there for a meal. Had to wait ages to order. Staff were rude and continued to ignore tables when people were looking for service. Lady waitress (think she may be the owner) was only interested in tables that were for locals. Food was overcooked. Definitely one to avoid.

Off the cuff, quickly made decision to go in as it was getting late and I was bored of walking round looking for somewhere to go.

From the outside, it looks ok - mock-tudor/ antique stable block look and when you go inside its quite olde worlde. The service was very attentive though each time we asked for something on the menu we were told that they didnt do it anymore and brought us something else!

My sister wanted Sea Bass but got Bream (€20) which was fine but it was severley overcooked and I suspect it was a frozen rather than fresh fish - it wasnt very flakey and looked dry. I ordered the Plat du Jour which was Moussaka (€12) which was burnt arount the edges.

I hate to give a bad review as it was obviously a family restuarant the chef and his wife and their kids were eating dinner in there........then the family dog (rather scabby looking) walked in off the street and right through the bar toward the kitchen!!!

This was a "walk in" off the street experience for us. Whilst the atmosphere and table setting was warm and cozy the food was not to our taste. The steak tartare was too bland and the chips served were very soft and mushy and looked as if they had been cooked in old burnt oil. Clearly a different way of cooking as the owner, who was very friendly and helpful, was surprised that we didn't like them as presented. We agreed that it was all about "different tastes for different palates".

We vere 3 people having a dinner at Le Village, and what a wonderful experience! The 25 Euro menue that you could mix with several starters, main courses and desserts were really a great tasting experience. The restaurant seemd to be used by many people living in the area, and that was no wonder. All the dishes we had, the soups and octopyssy for starters, the fish and duck breast for main course and the desserts were very tasty and served in a delicate way. The service was very good but a little stressed when the whole restaurant was quicly filled up during the dinner period. A lot of people had to turn in the door due to no avaliable tables.

Very nice, very good atmosphere, higly recommendable place for a wonderful dinner!
