“One of Europes best driving roads”
Reviewed September 16, 2013

If you are a car fan and love driving this road just has to be driven. We started at the Grenoble end and worked our way to the coast at Cannes . There can't be a better way to arrive at the Cote d Azure . Every mile of the route takes you through the most stunning scenery and the road is very good quality free from pot holes and the twists and climbs make for a very memorable days driving. Do it you'll love it.

“Breathtaking drive”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

We wanted to avoid the expensive tolls as we drove to Cote d'azure and got a recommendation for this route. It was dramatic, stunning, and 100% worth whatever extra time it took! Truly, the journey was as great as the destination.

“St. vallier-de-Thiey”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

Is a very tiny hamlet, just 12 km from Grasse and is the first stop along the Route Napoleon. Its set on a high plateau, overlooked by the high hills. it began as a Roman stronghold and contains a Romanesque church dating back to 12th century. St. Vallier has a great picnic park and play area for your kids. For the adults, charcuterie, bakery ,deli hotels and gas stations.
Now you start climbing up the Route napoleon.

“Scenic Drive and Plenty of Wonderful Culinary Experiences Along the Way”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

This was the third time I've traveled this route and this time I did it with my husband and our adult daughter. We wanted to share with her the beauty of the route (as we remembered it from 29 years ago :-) ) and the great places we ate at along the way. We were not disappointed. The road is still scenic, taking you through some of the most beautiful French countryside. Many of the small towns along the way remained the same, but many have grown, too. It was good to have a navigation system on our rental car because the route is not as clearly marked as it once was. This is a trip I recommend to everyone I know that intends to visit Europe...it is so worth it! And if you travel this route, be sure to stop at the Hotel de la Poste in Corps for a meal. It will be a memory of a lifetime!
