Good museum for those that are not familiar with wine production history. A bit basic, but laid out well and no charge to enter. The winery tour was not possible because they were in the middle of harvest, which is understandable. Worth the 15 minutes it took to go through.

If you want to learn about the varieties of grapes used in making Chateauneuf-du-Pape wines or the history of winemaking in this area, the Musée du Vin Brotte is a great place to go. The displays are well laid out with maps, photos, diagrams and information, all presented in a compact space that doesn't overwhelm the viewer. And, after learning all about winemaking in this area, you can choose a bottle for you picnic or dinner in the well stocked wineshop. Definitely a stop to plan for on your visit to Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

A small museum with some information on the region. The information is mainly in French and the is adequate for those who have not been to other wine museums in France before. The wine tasting is a bit non-event and does not give you a good understanding of the wines produced in the area and is very limited. We had a much better experience in the Cave under the Chateau ruins on the hill - go there....

small museum but helpful explanation of the history of the local wine-making. The tasting afterwards was hurried and really did not promote CdeP in its best light.

The museum is very informative and nicely presented - best for those who don't know a lot about wine-making or about French producers. Some of the antique tools are fabulous.
The Anselme blend of Chateauneuf-du-Pape wine is always good. We wanted to purchase some for shipping to the USA but shipping costs were prohibitive - much higher than at other places.
