It was a great pleasure to meet Guy Bremond. A real professional who communicates his love of wine and particularly chateauneuf du papes with good humour and gusto, his caves are something to behold, ancient vaults which he has chipped back to their original stone by hand, dating back as far as the Templars, and sympathetic lighting creates a fantastic atmosphere in which to try some of the best wines made.

Guy gave us one of the best wine tastings I've had in a long time (plus an architectural mini-tour of the cave.) He was immensely knowledgeable, as one would expect from a master sommelier. Our tasting was unhurried, informative, and the quality and selection of the wines was as high as could be. Do yourself a favor and visit Les Caves Saint Charles!

Set in 13-century cave under the village of the popes and undergoing excavation to possibly four levels below the street you will find Guy, a master sommelier and warm and informative host. Guy will take you through century old wine makers and introduce you to the new breed and will let you make your own decision. Shipping the wines around the world this is the place to watch and we will definitely come back.
