A Standard French hotel room that was clean and comfortable. Restaurant and host very welcoming and accommodating. Food was fantastic and service was excellent. Highly recommended . Wine was very well complimented. Felt truely well looked after. Very well situated in centre of town. With room for parking. Room and food deal was reasonably priced.

Stayed: June 2013, traveled as a couple

This is not like coming to a ordinary hotel, but more like being a guest at Andrés. A charming and cozy place. You have to dine there too. Food and wine were great. Andre was a splendid host. A lot of producers nearby on walking distance open for wine tasting.

We stayed here in late May 2013 on the advice of reviews on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. Andre is the perfect host and immediately makes you feel welcome with his warmth and bright personality. I don't think I have ever laughed so much during a check-in process! The rooms are standard for the price and star rating, what you are coming here for is the hospitality and local knowledge. If you can get a room facing the vineyards, that is a bonus, as the rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy in the morning. There is free parking at the rear. If you stay here, you must eat in the restaurant and immerse yourself in the entire experience. We will return and also be sending all our friends to this gem of a hotel.

Great news from La Mere Germaine: Harry Karis, the author of The Chateauneuf-du-Pape Wine Book will be in Chateauneuf from May to August and organize tastings and book signing sessions at La Mere Germaine. Contact Andre for more details.

Coming from the United States we needed a recommendation as to where to stay on our first leg of our European trip. Le Mere Germaine Restaurant & Hotel was recommended to us by a French friend. We loved it, this place is not to be missed. It has all the charm of the area and walking distance to the lovely town heart of the town. We were greeted by the wonderful Andre Mazy and his staff. His enthusiasm is contagious. His energy is non-stop. Service is superb. You feel you are part of his family while being treated as royalty. After our long airplane trip from the United States we were able to sit outside on the terrace. The view of the vineyards is beautify and relaxing. The restaurant attached to the hotel is outstanding. Andre is so knowledgeable we asked him to choose our menu. The experience was amazing. His chef is world class. The wine is amazing. This place is not to be missed.
