This family-owned restaurant is located in a former melon trading counter (melon being the specialty of the Cavaillon area). Its owner and chef, Jean-Jacques Prevot, has specialized himself in melon-based dishes (in season, of course) ...and in melon-inspired paintings too (less convincing in my opinion). There is no terrace but the inside is nicely decorated with local objects about.. melon. The tables are nicely set and the staff welcome is as sincere as it is warm (overall, the staff, especially the chef and his lovely daughter, are clearly enjoying their job and the pleasure of their guests).
I was there recently for the second time. I first had the house drink Melanis (melon, star anise, other plants, on crushed ice) - a refreshing delight. Then a warm oyster and salsify soup - second delight. Main course was veal quasi (filet), perfectly cooked. Cheese was served as a small hamburger - I was less convinced. Dessert (banana pie) was also slightly less convincing. But the overall experience is not far from perfect !
(If you are in a hurry, just call the restaurant and order a MacPrevot... you will be very happy to get such a nice take-away food for 10€ !!)
