Everything about our stay here was great. Mirelle and Jean-Pierre went out of their way to welcome us and make our stay enjoyable. They were such good hosts. The bedroom, little kitchen and bathroom were all very comfortable and clean and the terrace overlooking the garden was a lovely place to relax. The house is well situated - on the edge of town so that it feels peaceful but within easy walking distance to the centre, although we mostly used the free shuttle bus. Thoroughly recommended.
The hosts could not have been more welcoming and friendly and provided guidance on the local area including travel, sights, and restaurants. We had our own bathroom and full kitchen plus experienced a delightful breakfast each day. The weather was hot during our stay so the pool was also a great bonus.
The "apartment " is a section of a large old family house, with a beautiful big garden available for guests. A wonderful breakfast was served each morning on the terrace, and there was a partially shaded balcony off the bedroom with table, chairs and sun loungers. We visited during the Avignon festival when the town is very busy with lots of street entertainment and hundreds of "festival off" theatre, circus or music events that can be booked. The location of the property was ideal, in a quiet street, 15 minutes walk from the town centre, but with a convenient free bus service ( park and ride, buses very 6 minutes) a few minutes walk from the house.
The hosts, Mereille and Jean Pierre, couldn't have been more welcoming ( and more understanding of our limited French ) including us in a trip with their friends to an event, and taking us to the TGV station early on our last day.
We had booked on the basis of one very good review on Trip Adviser, but thoroughly endorse all the positive things they had said. Mosquitos are found around Avignon generally, so do pack your repellent.

Our host met us at the TGV station and took us back to the charming property. On arrival we were taken to the beautiful garden and given refreshments before being shown to our rooms. The bedroom was beautifully furnished in provencal style, there was also a private WC, bathroom with bath and shower, a small well equipped kitchen and a lovely first floor balcony overlooking the garden, complete with table, chairs and sun loungers.
Our hosts served a wonderful breakfast on the terrace and were extremely welcoming and helpful in suggesting places to visit.
The property is ideally situated, far enough out of the centre of the city so that noise is not an issue. Although the city centre is within walking distance, there is a free bus service with buses turning up every 5 minutes or so. The local station is about a 30 minute walk from the property and the TGV station has a free shuttle bus to the city centre.
Avignon is a fantastic city to visit with many theatres, parks, interesting and amazing buildings, great restaurants, and a warm and relaxing but vibrant atmosphere. We did not find it necessary to hire a car, we found plenty of walking and cycling routes from Avingnon many along the Rhone, as well as some beautiful cities, towns and villages easily accessed by public transport.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this property or location, we will definitely go back. The only draw back were the mosquitos so don't forget to pack some insect repellent!
