“An apartment of character, in a lovely 15-15th century chateau - BUT up 45 steps.”
Reviewed May 18, 2018 for a stay in May 2018

This is a comfortable gite for a large friendly party , pretty well equipped for cooking meals and plenty of space for people. Stairs could be an issue for older folk. Also we had been forewarned the pool was under repair which was not a trouble to us as too old anyway but may worry those alter in the summer. Also barbecue equipment too filthy to use and needs a good clean

Local village has 2 boulangeries for croissants and bread and an useful supermarket to stock up (and Sunday morning market) . It is 25 minutes into Avignon but well placed for the motorway to ge to Nimes and Arles

Thanks for your useful feedback, the pool will be repaired for beginning of july.
I know the steps can be an issue, but being on the second floor allows a sunny view, and we were of course not allowed to build a lift in such a historical building ...
I hope you enjoyed your stay. Best wishes. Nadege

“Relaxing and peaceful place to stay”
Reviewed October 7, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

The chateau was great. It was lovely and quiet and we enjoyed sitting reading books both in the apartment which was really comfortable and around the pool and gardens. There were 3 generations of us staying together and it worked very well for us. Thank you - we had a lovely holiday

“Feel like a princess”
Reviewed October 5, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We loved staying at the castle with its peaceful surroundings and lovely landscaping. We stayed in late September and the pool looked so inviting but it was a little cool from the night temperatures. I'm sure it is a delight in the summer. The moat was a very interesting feature and we were jokingly told not to eat the fish which live in the moat and are fun to watch. We would like to come back and try it again in summer.
The apartment is luxuriously large with three large bedrooms, three baths, a very large living room and dining area and a well equipped kitchen.
It was easy to book the rental and the owner was always quick to respond via Wi-Fi. It was easy to get to Camp Cesar, Pont du Gard and Avignon from the house. We spent one day at the wonderful market at Uzes and then went to Pont du Gard. We also really enjoyed Bangnols sur Ceze. There are steps on the wide spiral staircase to the apartment but we found them to be very manageable.

Liked best: Fantastic location
Liked least: To the west of Avignon and we wanted to explore places to the east of Avignon so it added more time.

“Great castle setting and comfortable apartment”
Reviewed August 13, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Three generations enjoyed apartment, setting and region. Apartment comfortable and attractive. . Lovely breakfasts each day around dining table with food purchased in Laudon grocery and bakery from friendly storekeepers. Swimming pool lovely. Met French family at pool. Beck responded all the way from Thailand when we had a plumbing problem. Graciously let us store our luggage on last day while we toured before train. The area is so terrific we could have stayed longer. Written directions essential because GPS had difficulty. No problem finding Castle. We didn't mind dirt road entrance. Written information about area was helpful. Steep stairs. Winding stairs ok for grandparents who are used to stairs but family carried luggage.

Liked best: See comments above. Tried to list all of the things we loved.
Liked least: We would have appreciated thicker towels and better written directions for appliances, especially stove top. Hard to remember what you are told in short intro to apartment.

“Fabulous holiday in Southern France”
Reviewed October 9, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We spent a wonderful 3 weeks with friends and family at Chateau de Lascours in Laudun L'Ardoisse which is in Southern France. This was our home away from home. It was a beautiful historic chateau fully equipped with a modern kitchen that had all the latest stainless steel fridge, stove dishwasher etc............All the bathrooms had also been redone very tastefully with modern sinks, showers but the place still retained its' " chateau " quality with the stone stairs and floors . The windows were huge and allowed all the light inside the suite. There was a family bedroom that could easily accomodate 8 people for sleeping and it had its own small sitting room with a washer/dryer. The parents' bedroom was very large with closets across one whole wall and a double shower.. The living area and dining were very spacious as well. We had no problems and the owner Nadege checked in with us regularly to make sure that we were comfortable. We made daily trips to the countryside as far as Nice, Avignon, Uzes, Orange, Nimes, Gordes. Thoroughly enjoyed the vineyards, hills with its' chateaus . Food was amazing and the people were very friendly. We sipped wine on the balcony across the moat and felt so fortunate that we had found this place.
