I was at first suspicious of an Avignon hotel not in the old city, but this was a pleasant surprise. For one thing, it is very close to the centre; about a 15 minute walk to Place de l'Horloge, and less than 10 minutes to the Avignon Centre train station (take a cab or bus if you need Avignon TGV). The hotel is reminiscent of a garden villa, which is a nice treat in the heart of Avignon. The room itself was one of the ground floor rooms right off the garden, and though it was very basic it met our needs just fine. Breakfast was a good value and quite tasty. WiFi is free, but we had to go out into the garden courtyard area to get it reliably - not really a problem as the weather was fine and there are plenty of spots to sit. Overall, a solid choice in Avignon, well priced, and comfortable enough for a couple nights.

Room Tip: Garden rooms are best.

Located just outside the city walls with free on-street parking, about 15 minutes walk from the main centre. Our ground floor room facing onto the courtyard was pretty basic although very clean. Aircon worked well (good as temperatures were in the mid-30s). No carpets on the tiled floors which can be very unforgiving if you drop anything! Reception staff reasonably friendly, but it’s an advantage if you can speak French. Good value continental buffet breakfast served outside in the courtyard garden, with helpful and friendly staff. OK for short stays.

Room Tip: Probably better to be on first floor to avoid clip-clopping noise from above

I didn't like this hotel. Probably we just got unlucky with the room. We stayed in triple room and it wasn't cozy. Single bad was not really comfortable. All the rest was normal - clean bathroom, towels, quietly. In the morning we found a pleasant garden in a hotel courtyard - I guess it's nice place for breakfast.
It is a good location if you are on the car - you can leave your car on the public parking and walk to the centre through city walls (10 minuts from the hotel).

We received a cell at the second floor (no elevator), with no closet, no room for a suitcase. The extra blankets were piled in the middle of the room.
After complaining we were offered a better room, on the ground floor, facing the nice garden - only it had NO WINDOW. You would not like to spend a night in an unventilated room (or sleep with your room door open).
Staff would not (or could not) offer a decent room, so we spent the night with an open door...
Hotel probably have better rooms, so BE WARNED - ordering a room at this hotel is a gamble.

Location out of the walls - about 20 mintues walk to the center

We stayed two night here in September 2012 and found the hotel and room very much to our liking - simply but tastefully furnished, clean and bright. It's very convenient for both the train station and the old town, and we weren't troubled by noise or anything else for that matter. The patrons were patient with my rusty French and the breakfast was pleasant too. I'd happily return here if we came back to Avignon.

Stayed 1st week September 2012 and everything was excellent. 10 minutes walk to the centre of Avignon. Excellent value for money. Lovely clean room overlooking the hotel garden which got the morning sun - ask for one of these. Good breakfast, served in garden if you wish, with friendly staff. The garden offers a very pleasant place to sit and read in the sun or shade (gets the sun all day). The patron speaks reasonable English - better than my French! Would/will go again. John & Deirdre.

Room Tip: 1st floor overlooking garden best.

OK hotel just outside of the city walls in Avignon. 10 minutes walk to centre of Avignon and to the central railway station. Our rooms faced on to the road and were a bit noisy, plus a bit bright as they had the hotel sign lit outside of our rooms, so I didn't have the best sleep. If you stay here ask for a room facing on to the garden. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was good and generous.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing on to the garden
