“Hotel Le Colbert is definitely a great find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2010

Located on a quaint and quiet street, Hotel Le Colbert is an excellent place to use as a home base while touring Avignon and the surrounding area of Provence. The rooms are extremely comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Patrice and Annie are terrific hosts, assisting their guests without hesitation. Breakfast in the dining room or walled patio is a special treat, especially since Annie puts together an appetizing meal. I'd highly recommed this place to anyone and will definitely return there when I revisit Provence.

We used tripadvisor reviews to find this hotel in Avignon, which fortunately had rooms available the next day for us. It was no disappointment, as Le Colbert is a very nice place to stay.
It is very quiet, but still close to where things happen in Avignon. The hotelier was very nice, although his wife seemed to have had a bad day when we were there.

The 10 euro breakfast is not a bargain, so if you are on a budget you can skip it for cheaper fare.

Hotel le Colbert is charming, convenient and welcoming. Patrice and Annie at Hotel le Colbert were great hosts. We stayed for 5 nights in June and enjoyed our stay very much. It is beautifully decorated in bright Provencal colours and Annie's breakfasts were lovely. Lively art and theatre posters covered the walls and the breakfast room was filled with wrought iron furniture and colourful tableware. In true small European hotel fashion there was no elevator but a wide spiral staircase. The hotel was conveniently located and provided easy access to restaurants, shopping, sights and to the train station. Patrice was very helpful and interested in our daily adventures. We would recommend without reservation.

Lovely hotel with very comfortable rooms, very clean, with air conditioning (an absolute must as it was 39 degrees when we were there!) and soundproofing, so slept really well.. Very near centre of Avignon and easy to get to tourist attractions. Breakfast was a feast, outstanding, and the owners were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We had breakfast out on the patio which was just lovely, a haven of peace and tranquillity. Loads of nice restaurants near by.

We really enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to visit again and would very much recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Avignon

Hotel le Colbert is a two-star that put one of the three-stars on our trip to shame. The location is quiet but convenient to the old town of Avignon, and Patrice and Annie are excellent hosts. Their breakfasts were a great start to the day, and their help with restaurant reservations, making appointments with hair salons (Garcon des Coiffures, a very talented and amiable guy just down the street), etc.

Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very appealing. No street noise tp speak of, and we were facing the street.

Our stay in Avignon and Hotel le Colbert was the high point of our trip, and we already want to go back.

We only stayed here for 2 nights but wish it had been more.

We stayed in room 17 on the ground floor on the patio. The room was small but colourful and a very high ceiling with skylights. The bathroom was compact but good.

This hotel had some huges bonuses for me:
- the colourful patio where you just sit or read a book during the day
- the quiet, the rooms on the patio have no street noise at all
- the great hosts, very kind and cheerful.

We did not have breakfast there since we don't eat a huge breakfast and we felt 10 euros would be a lot of money.

If you walk to the end of the street there is a square with about 5 of 6 restaurants with large outdoor seating areas where we had some meals.

Hotel Le Colbert is a charming hotel tucked away on a side street just inside the city walls of Old Avignon. It is a true gem and we had a wonderful experience there. The very genial hosts, Patrice and Annie, were friendly and accommodating in every way. It was truly a pleasure meeting them. The decor of the hotel is a statement to their refined tastes and their attention to even the smallest details. There is a marvelous outdoor patio with a waterfall where you are able to sit quietly and have breakfast in the cool shade of the trees that grow there. The breakfast is homemade by Annie and provides a small sampling of the tastes of Provence, including her delicious crepes.

You get the true flavor of Old World charm in the very clean and comfortable rooms but not without the modern amenities, such as free WiFi and air conditioning. They are decorated in a mix of colors reminding one that we are in the light filled and colorful city of Avignon.

The location of the hotel makes it easily accessible to all of the historic sites and Patrice is a great resource for finding good French restaurants and sites away from the crowds. All in all, a very satisfying visit.
