“Delightful Bed & Breakfast”
Reviewed July 3, 2012

In June we were guests at Aida Assad's B&B in Avignon. The accommodations were excellent; the breakfasts were wonderful and we can't say enough positive things about the hostess. She made us feel very comfortable in her beautiful home and jumped to our rescue when we needed help after discovering we had left our passports in our previous hotel in Paris. We truly enjoyed our stay with Aida and missed our "new best friend," when it came time to leave.

My wife and I stayed with Aida in her beautiful home in Avignon.
This was our first visit to Avignon and Aida made us really welcome
The home was a mixture of a french villa and a Marakesh Riyadh.
The house is very beautifully decorated and it has a gorgeous garden. The house is in the old part of the city and is ideally located. Aida took a real interest in our holiday and advised us on must sees. We took the opportunity to relax in this lovely retreat.

The breakfast prepared by Aida was lovely and we wil return.
Aida also has an appartment to let. We may try this.

One definite thing is we will return

Well done Aida.

Joe and Sandy

We stayed at Le Clos du Rempart for three nights on a two week trip through Spain and France. As we were travelling with our two boys (ages 10 & 7) we wanted a bit more space than a standard hotel room. Mme. Assad's two bedroom apartment was perfect. It was very clean, bright and allowed us to eat dinner in after a long day of sight-seeing. The location is fantastic - within walking distance to everything we needed - great restaurants, boulangerie, laundry and grocery. Aida was a delightful and thoughtful hostess. She had fresh fruit and a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived and spot-on recommendations for enjoying our time in Avignon. Thank you!

Madame Assad is a lovely lady who opens her home for guests. With 3 children we were treated with such kindness, were made to feel very welcome and at home. The breakfasts were lovely, the conversation was interesting, and Aida really helped us plan our days exploring Provence. We had 3 fabulous days in Avignon and surrounds, and we did not even come close to seeing enough. At least we know we must come back again, and most definitely will stay with Madame Assad. Thank you! The rooms were very comfortable for the price, we were very happy and location is very good, a short stroll to restaurants and all of the sights.

We stayed with Mme Assad for 2 nights in May 2012 as part of a trip to Provence for our 30th wedding anniversary. Mme Assad was absolutely wonderful, greeting us as though we were family. We had a lovely room overlooking the beautiful courtyard. Mme Assad offerred us wine after we settle in in celebration of our anniversary and she and my wife enjoyed exchanging gardening tips. Madame recommended places to visit in the city as well as giving us tips on good restaurants. Breakfasts were ample and delicious, served in the lovely kitchen since it was still to chilly to eat outside in the morning. The home and our room were beautifully decorated and comfortable. This is a wonderful place and very well located for visiting Avignon.

Recommendations for drivers:
1. rent the smallest available car and don;t accept an upgrade
2. get driving directions from Mme Assad ahead of time - do NOT use mapping directions! Le Clos du Rempart's front door is on a very narrow street, but it's also on the corner of the wider avenue that runs along the inside of the rampart wall.

Room Tip: The room overlooking the courtyard is very quiet

We stayed for the first time at Le Clos du Rempart in April 2012 for three nights. EVERYTHING was very special. Mme. Assad was so very kind, attentive, and caring, and she assured we were always comfortable and satisfied. The home is spacious and beautiful and secure with lovely patios and privacy. Mme Assad made our dinner and touring requests and they turned out perfect. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful each day. We hope to return someday!

Room Tip: Both rooms are bright and cheerful.

We spent 5 days in March at this lovely B & B. There are two rooms each with a spacious bath and great beds. The breakfast was excellent. Mme. Assad really made the trip special. She patiently described how to navigate Avignon. She also directed us to the best restaurants and secured reservations for us. She also was able to recommend day trips outside of Avignon. Since we were there in March we did not get to use the lovely patio more than once but can see that it will be great in warm weather.
