Description: "Le Petit Gourmand" is a typical french food small restaurant providing home made meals cooked by the Chef close to you as if you were at home. 16 seats inside and double possible outside during the beautiful season (outside terrace here may be used more than 6 months per year from Easter). We have a special meal called "Secca d'Entrevaux" (thin slices of dried beef with pesto, potatoe in a owen, hot melted cheese and mesclun). Other "must": fresh pastas with truffle, or fresh raviolis with foie gras inside and a few desserts that you may find all in our "Café Gourmand".The rest of the dishes are proposed according to the season.

Visited while on vacation with friends. A very warm and welcoming staff took care of us, answered our questions, and took care of our every need. It had the feeling of dining with family rather than being waited on. The food was outstanding. The wine was fantastic and reasonably priced. We also had two desert samplers which disappeared quickly. The ladies were welcomed into the kitchen to take pictures, and we were given a very warm farewell at the end of the evening by the staff. What else can you say? Probably one of my best dining experiences anywhere. What a great evening!

Small out-of-the-way place provided a life memory. Six friends from the US had dinner here June 26. Everything was perfect. Three people shared the food preparation and table service. The wine recommendations were a great value. The food was delicious and was prepared and presented with passion. Prices were surprising as we are all used to paying substantially more. By the time we left, we felt like we were saying goodbye to old friends. Everyone came out of the kitchen to wish us well. Don't pass this one up!

What can I say - the quality of the food and the friendly service as this small Avignon restaurant would be impossible to match at home in England for the price. I ate fantastic truffle taglitelli and my partner had scallop, asparagus & parmesan risotto and then we shared the cafe gourmand dessert (the one in the pictures). Everything was absolutely delicious and it all cost only approx £40.

On a walking tour of Avignon spotted this place with lime green tablecloths outside. Advertised fresh and home made food. The waitress recommended the plat du jour, slow cooked pork with potatoes and greens. It was excellent! So was the tiramisu dessert served in individual little jars. The staff were helpful and friendly. Locals were eating there so it must be good!

Very casual place with great food. the open kitchen on the corner of the room allows everyone to see the cook preparing all meals, and the menu is displayed in a big blackboard on the wall. food was terrific, and prices were very reasonable. my wife and i had the fois gras ravioli and the steak tartare, and both were very good. as far as we're concerned, the best place to eat in avignon.
