We were completely satisfied with our recent five day stay at Hotel de l'Horloge. We had also researched on line and personally contacted both the Novotel and Grand hotels as possible venues. It became obvious to us that we had made the best choice.
The location, property and outstanding treatment by the staff were highlights. We were presently surpised at the hotel's central location, adjacent to the City Center and Opera House/Theatre and close to the Papal Palace, part of a large dynamic square with several fine restaurants and ample shopping nearby
The hotel has sixty six rooms and features a new and efficient elevator. We were warmly welcomed by the receptionist Laetitia who effortlessly swtiched over to English to better accomodate us. She was most courteous and helpful throughout our stay as were the others,Alixanne,Oliver and Arun.
We had a personalized greeting in our room and a small bottle of olive oil as a welcoming gift.
Our room offered a wide view of the bustling square and slept three comfortably. The toilet was separate from the washroom proper.Amenties included robes, slippers, perfumed tissues
and other high quality toiletries. A small table in the washroom for storing personal items would have made a useful addition. The in-room coffee and tea service was appreciated and the fridge was well stocked. That a high level of customer service awareness existed at the hotel was most obvious when staff stayed clear of passage ways and the elevator when guests appraoched.
Hotel de l'Horloge offerred good value and added considerably to our enjoyable stay in Avignon

Room Tip: If you are at all concerned about ambient noise from the square below, pick a room removed from that...

We staying in one of the 5th floor rooms with a small terrace overlooking the city. The room was good for the price and comfortable, but lacking a bit in charm. The hotel's location, however, is perfect for exploring Avignon. Free wifi and a small computer is available. The staff was also fantastic--friendly, willing to put up with my almost nonexistent French, and eager to help us find restaurants, etc.

We stayed one night. The staff was helpful and the room was clean and modern. Good for the price. The walls seemed a bit thin in terms of noise but that could have just been a noisy neighbor.

Hotel de l'Horloge is centrally located just off the Main Square and close to the Palais des Papes. My room was on the 5th floor - there is an adequate lift in the property. I had a reasonable sized room with separate toilet and bath/shower. I
Also had the most wonderfully sunny terrace (which was protected from the winds quite a bit!) overlooking the roof-tops of Avignon and a nearby bell tower (which rang at reasonable hours and my very own potted olive tree - absolutely beautiful!

The breakfast was lovely - FRESH orange juice - the most beautiful boiled egg (which you cook yourself - but yummy fresh eggs) - heed the warnings and stay away from the scrambled eggs - but the rest is just fine!

The staff were helpful and courteous and friendly!! They arranged for a half day trip I wished to do and it was superb!

The accommodation was clean and I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Avignon. Everything is within walking distance and the regular railway station is a few minutes' walk just outside the city walls.

I arrived by TGV and the station is about 10 minute bus ride (caught at the Post Office just near the city gate) away.

Wi fi good! Heating good. Lovely shops close by. Little supermarket & coffee shops in street just behind the Hotel. Up market clothes shops close by! Great restaurants all around.

The hotel has very small rooms, but great family atmosphere. Great location, just in the historical centre in walking distance from all interesting places.

Cute hotel at perfect location next to the main square. Avignon is very pretty and houses the magnificent Palais des Papes. This hotel beautifully fits this atmosphere. Friendly staff, eye for detail, good rooms, fast free internet, stylish breakfast. Delicate and tasteful. This hotel deserves a compliment. I will be back

Room Tip: The fifth (=top) floor has rooms with balconies including outdoor showers.

it is very disappointing for a good hotel like this one having one of the slowest internet in france. it took about 2-3 minutes to open emails.
