“Great service and Fantastic location”
Reviewed March 30, 2009

All the reviews on Hotel d'Europe are totally right - it's a lovely hotel, bang in the middle of Avignon, just off a lovely square with very inviting restaurants and bars. You can pretty much walk everywhere in about five to ten minutes. The reception staff could not have been nicer throughout our five day stay, they were consistently helpful, gave us some great tips on really good restaurants and maps on the best routes around Provence. The hotel has a fantastic Michelin restaurant and even though it was pricey, we splashed out for one night and the food was simply delicious, and again the service was outstanding. Just a few niggles, the rooms are lovely with most overlooking a lovely courtyard but they're probably ready for a furniture and curtain refurb and even though there are a few PC's you can use in public areas there is no printer with them and no wireless in the rooms - but these are small niggles in what was a wonderful stay, with some great hospitality. I would certainly return here again and again.

We have stayed at Hotel d' Europe in the past and they have never let us down. Cecile, who is a key manager up front and is extremly professional, always makes us feel at home. She made it a point on our last trip to introduce us to the hotel manager and that made us feel very special. But the part that impressed us most is I watched the staff treat other guests the same way. If you need a tour guide ask for Mika who works exclusivly for the hotel. She is as good as it gets from her knowledge to her personality. This is a must stay hotel in Avignon from the service, food and the friendly staff. Ask for Cecile if you have any problems. We look forward to our next visit

Very Happy!

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, last week. Overall a very good experience. Hotel is several hundred yrs old and is very charming. Staff very professional, multilingual and service oriented. Location was good as we were able to walk to most places in the old town, including the train station very easily. No real problems. A bit over priced as the rooms could used a fixture refresh, but made up for with room size - we had a superior room with was huge by French standards. Would definitely stay here again when in Avignon.

Look no further for a home base in Province. We reserved one of the hotels "standard" rooms for 169 euro a night. There "standard" room far exceeded our expectations; a large room with beautiful antiques and huge, elegant bath. The staff was so cordial and helped us with everything from driving directions to restaurant reservations. I could not give a higher recommendation and look forward to staying there again in the near future.

Good hotel, friendly staff, beautifully decorated. Marble bathroom, very quiet. Very charming, lots of character -- if you're into that. Valet parking is 15euro/night - not bad at all. Free internet on the 3rd floor but no internet in rooms (wired or wireless). Room a bit on the smaller side.

In short, good hotel, would definitely recommend.

My aged parents and I stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the courtesy, friendliness, willingness 'to go the extra mile' and the sheer quality of the staff at this lovely old hotel.

The food in the hotel's restaurant is really worth sampling too:just exquisite!

All-in-all,it is definitely a case of 'you get what you pay for'.I'd return tomorrow!

We chose this hotel for a one night stay in Avignon based on Trip Advisor reviews - and we were not disappointed. We loved the Hotel d'Europe. It is elegant and welcoming with friendly, helpful staff.
We were lucky enough to receive an upgrade to a beautiful large, high ceilinged, room. The bathroom was modern with all the extra touches, including robes.
The hotel courtyard is an oasis of calm. Hotel location is ideal, just inside the city walls of Avignon, a couple of minutes walk from the River. We are already planning to go back for a longer stay. This was our favourite hotel during a 10 night cycle trip around Provence.
