We stayed as a mature couple in an executive room at the Novotel Avignon Centre for 7 nights from 7th July 2012. The hotel was conveniently situated a short distance from the railway station where the direct Eurostar service arrives. Reception was quick and pleasant and the room was comfortable and well serviced. There is no drawer storage in the rooms but we managed to find a home for all that we had brought with us. The slippers and dressing gowns were appreciated but the Nespreso machine didn't get a lot of use as the only cups provided were paper. The safe was big enough to take all our gadgets etc.
The breakfast was not a good advertisement for the hotel kitchen with the hot selection left too long in the warming trays. The remainder of the choice was rather limited for the €15 per head charged and the staffing was erratic with a number of apparently untrained individuals who seemed unable to take initiatives. There was rather erratic monitoring of who took breakfast although the systems were occasionally in operation.
The pool is rather small and without any obvious means of entry and exit so our swimming costumes remained unused.
We were happy with the air conditioning as the outside temperature was 30 degrees plus.
On balance it is a comfortable hotel but rather expensive for the size of the rooms.
