This tour, with the audio guide, was excellent. The place itself is incredible, and still a great spectacle, despite it being "remodelled" by various tenants over the years. Definitely worth doing and to do it justice please don't rush through.

The Pope's Palace is an unusual and intriguing attraction, providing you with detailed insight into a unique part of Avignon's history. The Palace has been restored to excellent condition and the exhibits and audioguide are world-class. An essential part of any visit to Avignon.

If Papal history appeals to you - this will be worth the visit. Everything was amazing - the presence of the place was incredible - the grottos, the gardens, the sheer size of the rooms so worth the visit. Not a lot of artifacts but they have good audio guides and wall displays which take you through the history and you still manage to get a sense of how they lived.

The history behind it is interesting and well presented in the audio guide. The building is nice but it is almost empty, almost everything was taken throughout the centuries.
In summary, it is nice to visit but it is not worth the price.

This imposing building is a must-see for any Avignon visitor. The staff is very helpful, and even for those with poor French, it will be a rewarding experience, if you are interested in history, especially connected to the Great Schism.

The building itself is sterile of decoration, being vandalised and modified throughout the centuries, especially during the Napoleonic Era. However there are plenty of informative screens with videos with English subtitles which will help you get the most out of your visit. In my opinion, the audioguide isn't worthwhile, as these information spots (which are plentiful) will give you all the information in a more user-friendly way.

The attraction in itself may seem expensive, but it does include entry to the Pont St. Benezet (Old Avignon Bridge), so overall, it offers good value to the visitor.
