Great location average room paid parking 8.4 euros overnight. If you don't spend a lot of time in room it is good. Near bridge and palias de papi. Can be found easily behind entrance building for pont avignon

Myself and 2 children visited Avignon early July for 1 night coinciding with annual festival - so this hotel was perfect - close to attractions in the old city and amid the nighttime activities of the festival. This hotel presented as boutique style accommodation, with personalised reception welcome. The room was spacious with a king sized bed plus large double sofa bed. Our room overlooked the old town city square and I was disappointed our schedule didn't allow for another nights stay as all the staff made us feel so welcome - this as to b the best value for money mercure hotel we have seen in our 4 weeks of touring.

The hotel's web site didn't make clear that one has to enter the underground parking at the other Mercure to reach (more or less) this Mercure. Sadly, the review that describes this was written after our stay in early June.

Eventually, we stopped at the other Mercure to inquire and were told to go into the underground parking and get out at the far end. We had heavy bags and the parking attendant refused to let us use the wheelchair elevator, so my husband carried the rolling bags up a steep flight of steps and we had to drag them several blocks to the hotel. We were hot and furious! At the hotel, they showed us a closer entrance/exit, but it also involved stairs.

When we checked out, we inquired about the possibility of driving the car directly to the hotel and were given directions to do so. We retrieved the car from the underground parking, went out of the area, around, and back in and worked our way to the hotel. These directions should be given to prospective guests.

As for the hotel itself, our room was fine -- not memorable one way or the other. The A/C worked well.

We had a very good dinner one night outside at the hotel's restaurant

Situated right next door to the Palais des Papes, I could not have asked for a better location. Lots of restaurants and cafes nearby, within walking distance of Les Halles, Place de Horloge next door.

The hotel itself is not worth talking about -- small rooms, poorly furnished, awful architecture and so-so food, no ambience at all.

I think this place exists because of its location and has nothing else to recommend it.

Hotel is situated right next to the papal palace, and makes exploring the highlights of Avignon very easy. There are also plenty of restaurants within a 2 minute walk.

Got a small room with no view as a le club platinum, although to be fair Mercure has no obligation in this field. There was nothing else particularly memorable about the property (positives or negatives)
