We spent only a week at the Parish House at Avignon and it was by far the worst travel experience of our lives from the moment we got off the train in Avignon until we got on the train to leave. The cost is nowhere worth what is expected and is provided. You are far better off getting a nice hotel room and a private driver/tour guide, and it will cost less than what it costs to stay at the Parish House.
The rooms were third class, the towels and linens old and tactless, the kitchen and bathroom facilities were below basic public health standards and would not pass inspection. Most of the breakfast milk, cereal, beverages and fruit were provided by the other guests because the owner was not providing them. He gave us one orange to share amongst the 7 of us! We never received lunch because we hadn't "signed-up" in time. He gave the leftover lunches to others that he served 3 days prior and at one lunch, which we all paid for, the owner ate our table leftovers as we were leaving. One day he left us in a strip mall to have lunch at a cafeteria. He also "took" a few wine glasses from the drink area.
One day the owner was not physically or emotionally well enough to take us on our tour.
There was a "for sale" sign on the Parish House building and we were welcomed with a masking tape strip with "Welcome" on it.
Do your homework and think twice before committing your self and money to this tour.
We did this several years ago and we are still haunted by our time there. If any changes have been made, we doubt the experience is any better. You can fix bathrooms, etc, but you can't really change the person/owner so that you, the guest, are made comfortable and safe in his presence.
