I understand why some reviewers were disappointed by the tour. To me the tour is
For: English speaking entry level wine drinkers who would like to know more about Provencal wine but either don't speak French or are deterred by the sometimes snobbish looking French wine experts.
Not for: Wine lovers who already know the basics and are looking to do serious wine tasting and shopping at certain wineries.
I fall into the first category and found the tour and our guide David to be both helpful and entertaining. I also had some brief encounter with Francois, whom I sensed to be more worn out by the daily tour and more a showman than a wine lover.
The tour also gave us a token to eat at a restaurant Francois worked at, 46, and enjoy a glass of wine free. I wouldn't recommend it.
