“Tasty Tartines - Tempting Desserts”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2013

We rented an apartment for a week in Avignon on the lovely square Place des Corps Saints, where this bistrot specializing in tartines is located. Tartines are open-faced sandwiches, sort of bruschetta on steroids. There's lots of variety, and, as one would expect, the dining is very reasonable. Service was outstanding. Leave room for dessert. It's among the best in Avignon. We had a tough time with choices, and, simply allowed our server to choose for us. Spot on.

“tartine treasure”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 14, 2013

This is a bustling wine bar on a pedestrian street by the papal palace. The daily food and wine lists are written on chalkboards. The wine list presented a variety of interesting beverages. The daily menu presented many excellent choices, with selections to fill all sizes of appetites. The charcuterie was lovely, as were the crocks of melted cheese with various accompaniments. We would definitely return to this restaurant, even if only for a quick glass of wine.

“Relaxed snacking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

Well-placed on the corner of a quiet square, this cafe offers a welcoming atmosphere, tasty tartines and soup, and some retro decor (old posters for kitchen equipment, cleaners, food, etc).
Part of the shelving displays products that one might have found in a French grocery store in the 1950s. The large windows overlook the Place des Corps Saints and a small chapel.

“Rustic Cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

It looks as good as the food is tasty. Fantastic atmosphere created by the decor and service. Great value. Tartines to die for. Chocolate mousse presented in a clip top preserving jar an example of creative presentation. View to the wall of the city from seat near the window. Humanshu our waiter was friendly and attentive... Thanks for the cognac!

There is not much to add to the reviews below - I agree with them all. This is a comfortable, casual and understated cafe with delicious meals and snacks. Great value if you are on a tight budget, and in a lovely setting.
