My wife and I spent two nights in Avignon as part of a weeks holiday in the south of France.
The room was amazing (Vilar), house and grounds were very comfortable and Francoise and Paco were wonderful hosts, and were very helpful in recommending places to see and places to eat!
Our stay here made Avignon (& Provence) the highlight of a fantastic holiday!

We stayed in the Vilar Room for 5 nights towards the end of June - opting for the air-conditioning. Definitely worth considering if you are there over the summer months. The room was large, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The B&B itself is about 5-10 mins drive from Avignon, which shouldn't be an issue as there is free on site parking and presumably most people will use Avignon as a base to explore the region with a car. The rooms overlook the garden, with the site itself being very well tended, peaceful and quiet and of course they have their own private pool in the grounds.

Overall it was an amazing stay. Paco and Francoise were great hosts! Breakfast at the common table was especially entertaining, being able to share travel tips amongst other fellow travelers and Paco and Francoise giving good travel advise!

Very highly recommended. I would not hesitate in recommending this B&B to anyone planning a stay in Avignon!

We can only endorse what everyone says about this beautiful B&B. A wonderful historic house, beautifully restored and filled with period furniture. It’s set in extensive grounds, with an excellent pool and a barbecue for guests to use, complete with outdoor kitchen and fridge.

Francoise and Paco are a delightful couple who made us feel very welcome. Breakfast in the beautiful dining room was a very sociable experience when we met guests from all over the world – English being the common language! In fact we often found our mornings much shortened because everyone lingered so long over breakfast, chatting to each other and to Francoise and Paco. It all made for a very happy atmosphere.

The Domaine is ideally situated on the Ile de la Barthelasse in the middle of the Rhone. It’s completely rural yet a short hop on the free park and ride to the busy and beautiful city of Avignon. (The park and ride is free, buses run every 15 minutes during the daytime and drop you at the gate to the old city.) It’s also well located for visiting the Avignon area or further afield to the Luberon or the Ardeche.

We have stayed in B&Bs in Europe, north America and South Africa. The Domaine de Rhodes is now our joint favourite (with Le Couvent at Roujan, Languedoc) but the Domaine de Rhodes wins on location.

We arrived to a warm welcome from Paco and Francoise, after a very long drive. We could not have been made to feel more at home, than from this lovely couple. Paco insisted on taking our bags, despite our protests. Our room was the Degas Suite, which was perfect for a couple with a teenage daughter. There was a lovely lounge room with a perfectly tuned piano, which our daughter took advantage of during our 3 day stay. The breakfast room was superb, with a different table decor each morning. The food for beakfast was great, with a huge variety of typical French fare. The bathrooms had L'Occitane toiletries, which was a nice touch. Paco and Francoise have thought of everything to make each guests stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. We were sorry to leave after our short stay, but hope to return to this idealic place.

I stayed at both the cottage (Monet) and also in the main house for 4 nights total and had a wonderful time. The cottage is situated in the park in front of the main house. There are 3 cottages total which are spread out in the park; they are far apart from each other so that you don't hear any noise from other cottages. The room I stayed at in the main house was newly renovated with really beautiful decor (though it doesn't have a kitchen like in the cottage). Highly recommended. Domaine de Rhodes is situated <10 minutes of drive from Avignon town center. The premise is very beautiful, full of flowers and trees. Owners were very friendly and provided good advice for my daily trip around Provence.

We (my wife and I, our twins and our aupair) stayed for 5 days at a 2 bedroom apt. The owners are wonderful and the place is very nice decorated. We enjoyed their hospitality and the beautiful garden.
