La Bastide des Anges
Ranked #9 of 56 Avignon B&B and Inns
Reviewed October 13, 2013

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights at La Bastide des Anges at the beginning of September. The house and the grounds (and pool) are stunning and Beatrice is a fantastic host. Our room (La Farandole) was spacious and clean. It even had an upstairs with twin beds which would be perfect for a family.

We didn't have a car and enjoyed walking around the island, and even into Avignon itself. Breakfast on the terrace was a real treat and it was nice to have the opportunity to speak to the other guests in the morning. We also took advantage of the kitchen facilities.

All in all I think it is one of the loveliest places I have ever stayed.

We stayed in this beautiful B&B for a week with my father so we had 2 rooms. Both were beautifully presented as is the whole property. Breakfast on the terrace is a great start to the day and the pool is fabulous for cooling off after sightseeing.

Highlights include: Take the Barthelasse Boat Shuttle to Avignon; have dinner in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon; ideal for visiting Pont du Gard and Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

The owner, Béatrice, is the perfect host. Highly recommended for a peaceful location just 10 minutes from Avignon city.

Room Tip: Our room (Les Ocres) was on the ground floor with its own shaded terrace with table & chairs, id...

We -a couple- stayed for a week in the caravan suite ("Roulotte") and loved. It's a bit apart from the other rooms in the middle of the park and looks directly into a large meadow. In september.
The roulotte has a very special styling that you either love or hate: pink & turkis everywhere, a lot kitchy decoration- it has a very bohemian flair. We loved it. everything required for a week stay with cooking is there: actually one of the best equipped kitchen I met in appartements (4 pans, enough cups, etc..). Toilet, Water: all infrastructure is working fine (Minor issue: shower is slightly slogged). the fridge has even a freezer departement! We rented a care (to come to this location-parking no problem) and went once a week to a super market and filled the fridge-and food was done. The bed mattress is very good, we slept well.
Location is very quiet (at least in september). The sleeping room has also two windows, so circulation was always good (especially when mistral is blowing). The roulotte has also some heating device that might work in automn, but probably not sufficient in winter.
Best thing last: owner Florent brought us every morning two fresh, warm croissons! We loved it! Sitting outside below the umbrella with out fresh croissons observing the first glow of sunlights! The owners where also helpfull when we came to the reception with questions (a.e something against moskitos..)
Avignon Center is around 30 minutes by car- that's o.k.
This roulotte-closer to nature in any terms-might not be for everyone, but many will love it.

This property is a stunning place to stay. Huge rooms and bathrooms, a delightful setting just outside Avignon and a kind host - what more could you ask for?

The house itself also has a lovely swimming pool which we had largely to ourselves throughout our 4 day stay, and both an indoor and outdoor summer kitchen which guests can use to store and cook food and drinks. AC was a godsend given that it was regularly above 35 degrees during our stay.

Beatrice was only too happy to recommend some great restaurants, days out and vineyards to visit.

Breakfast was typical French fare with fresh croissants, lovely home-made jams and fruit juices.

In short we had a lovely stay here and it was the perfect start to our holiday - highly recommended!

I spent four days in this magnificent B&B, the accomodation is really fantastic, very big room, very clean, very nice forniture and the owner is a really kind person. In my experince this B&B is over the top considering even the location with swimming pool big park with hourses and just 5min from the Avignon center. The breakfast is perfect and ask for the yogurt !! My score is over the expectation in strongly suggest Le Bastide des Anges

We have spent this summer five days at this place. I must admit that we received exactly what we had expected and even more...The place is full of charm and unique atmosphere. The room is furnished in provence style, it is clean everywhere!
Silence around...The only thing you can hear are.. the cyclades. Each morning a special breakfast is awaiting you...Big choice of home made jams, yoghurts, juices gives you a right start to a new day. You need just a couple of minutes to get to the city center. From the huge parking lot you can take a free shuttle bus to take you through the bridge and you find yourself next to the city walls..I really recommend this place to everyone who needs tranquillity and the vicinity of this marvellous city at the same time.
